I only noticed why the 2nd part was bad when i read about the storyline properly. Sure i was also kinda surprised and saddened to see my favourite character turned into a protagonist in it but i still enjoyed the graphics, similarity and extra abilities that's all i ever wanted. That's why for me the 2nd part was also great and better than the original game

One of the many things I liked about this game is that you can charge your jump before you reach the ground. So you can charge it as much or as little as you want depending on where you’re going. It seems unreliable but it always works, I always landed exactly where I wanted to land

I always liked the blade compared to the claws. Claws are fast and can pounce, but the blade was the cover power. Plus, it's more powerful and the spin attack is deadly against any target.

Prototype 2’s biggest mistake was making Alex the villain. Unless you read the tie-in comic (which I’m sure almost nobody did), Alex’s face-heel turn just comes out of nowhere. The idea of a sentient world-ending supervirus becoming its own identity and going down the path of an anti-hero (or anti-villain depending how you look at it) while struggling in its belief in humanity is infinitely more compelling than Heller’s “muh family, I must avenge” angle.

Those guards he ate cared more about his sister then he did. Alex was an amazing character, but it actually makes sense. They did very well on explaining the consequences for having the blacklight prototype ability. As to which every person they consume technically becomes who they are. Therefore, Alex was never truthfully himself at the end, consuming so many that he was more than one person with only one set of memories. The power is so cool, HUGE FAN, but realistically thats scary af. Losing yourself to the things you consume.

Alex was only transformed for about a month or so as it the game start when he wakes up so he wasn't familiar at all with his abilities unlike Heller who hid for months once he was turned and had other progenitor to learn from. Alex however is smarter and has deadlier sense of chaos with his stealth consume,artillery strikes and pansy which he used to infiltrate and disrupt entire bases without ever been detected. Heller walks in and causes an immediate bloodbath. It's best represented in their designations as Zeus and Hades, a conniving bastard and an untethered conquerer

Prototype 1 definitely has more usable powers, an actual shield, agile armor, musclemass, thermal vision, infected vision, pantsy and artillery strike. Most of these powers have their own unique animation if you held down the corresponding button. but as for the miscellaneous powers like resistance to regular bullets and etc, I'll agree.

Honestly I played the entire game with fully upgraded claws and shield. If you time the block correctly you attack with your shield spikes and interrupt most attacks. No one can touch you if you master it

@@Fallout4277 Wouldn't matter considering how blacklight Alex Mercer can pretty much break apart all organic matter within seconds of making contact, something Delsin/Cole wouldn't have any knowledge of until it's too late. I don't believe being a conduit is significant enough of a difference to change how the virus would affect their physiology in comparison to a normal person. The Beast (Cole and the original) might actually have a solid chance though.

My head canon is mercer let himself be absorbed intentionally at the end of prototype 2 and then took over hellers (that was the guys name right, the one u play as in 2) killing his consciousness and erasing heller from existence while keeping all the upgrades and becoming even more powerful. Hellers daughter eventually grows up and trys to get revenge for what mercer did to her father but fails and mercer eventually takes over the entire western continent and the Europe, Asia, and Africa all the individual nations agree to not interfere with mercer as long as he stays over in his new world he's created.

I'm so tired of seeing the good guys win because it's pure fantasy, they don't win all the time. Also mercer has had a few years to adjust to the blacklight virus or whatever it was called, been a while since I played. He's had time to really absorb the intellect and strategic thinking power of the military and adjust he's plans accordingly along with experimenting with his abilities and really knowing how to most effectively use them where as heller is going off of brute strength of his new powers and the desire for revenge. U gotta think of heller and mercer like the homunculus from the full metal alchemist series. Their philosopher stones have the souls of all those trapped inside but a determined soul like Ling from full metal alchemist brotherhood can fight for control and even permanently take control from the original. It doesn't make sense that mercer would just die like that and not have some kind of plan to come back. The games already suggests there's some sort of hive mind development for the infected and the leaders so another theory is mercer shared his memories with one of the last of his lieutenants and had them fight in his place while he disguised himself as the lieutenant and they were watching the fight. Letting heller get his revenge and just leaving so he doesn't interfere any longer but mercer wouldn't let a loose end like that just go so the other theory is more plausible
