Although I disagree with this guy about the effectiveness of his chosen martial art, you have to respect him for putting himself and his style on the line and actually engaging with these wrestlers. So many of these "master" just throw around willing students and walk around like they have magic powers. At least this guy's willing to get a little roughed up and actually sweat.

devourerofbabies The "punches" he through weren't meant to take them out because as he stated, he didn't want to hurt them. They are meant for distraction. Everytime he had an open shot to deliver a potentially punishing blow, such as the carotid artery, he mentioned it. Notice the aggravation mentioned by the wrestlers; that can easily be used to gain the upper hand in a fight. The intention of this video wasn't to show which one is better, but how Wing chun can be applied in or against wrestling.

These are kids with a few years of high school wrestling under their belts.... VS a 10+ year ? practicioner of "Wing Chun".... He was taken down multiple times... He was single legged repeatedly... Suplexed.. ect... If this was a street fight he would have ended up on the ground and all of his striking would be negated in favor of the wrestler... He would be ground and pounded into a bloody pulp... A Judoka would have thrown turned his world upside down... A varsity wrestler with one year of boxing training/sparring would completely decimate anyone in this guys Wing Chun academy... Sorry.. But that is reality.

I stopped watching @ 6:30 or so. Your assumption is that Wing Chung would be superbly efficacious if you were allowed to strike. In so doing, you missed something that should be very obvious. What if the wrestlers were allowed to hit as well? Obviously, if you're allowed to strike, making the assumption that they won't or can't strike, confers a significant advantage to you, no matter what BS you happen to be peddling at the time.

Good point, that would even it out quite a bit. However, at that point, it's more like an MMA fight. Also, I wouldn't underestimate a good strike to the neck, whether it's a forearm, fist, or maybe a kick. However, from my understanding, most Wing Chun kicks are thrown low, and in close, where the opponent wouldn't visibly see it.

I do wing chun, and wrestling. I incorporate wing chun into my mixed martial arts training. I see what he is doing, and I think it can be effective, but the fact of the matter is, people are not 100 percent accurate every single time. What is the wing chun answer for when you actually do get taken to the ground, because your timing was off? and which is the easier route? Learning wrestling defense, or wing chun defense. Wrestling counters to takedown are probably quicker to pick up than Wing chun counters to takedowns. Wing chun and wrestling cover two different aspects of fighting. It is however easy to incorporate wing chun into mma or the streets. Just don't neglect the other aspects of fighting too, especially in the streets.

How to beat a wrestler = stop living in your dream world and learn some wrestling with BJJ submissions. You will not out-wrestle a wrestler, but you can learn enough to save yourself from being twisted into a knot. Then use your BJJ skills to set up submissions, sweeps or to get back up. Wing Chun "could" work with lots of training against wrestlers... But it does not have a good base and it's just so much easier to learn wrestle and do BJJ.

***** Ummm... Sprawling is a wrestling technique, and takedown defense is an integral part of MMA training. I wasn't suggesting that one needed to be an expert on all aspects of wrestling. Unfortunately, too many kung-fools believe the key is to practice more kung-phooey.

@aaronyuen5982
@aaronyuen5982 10 жыл бұрын
I disagree with the statement that Wing Chun or other Martial arts for that matter does not have a "good base". Styles do have take down techniques and Wing Chun can even be applied while on the ground. We've done it. We are lucky enough to have a variety of people coming to learn Wing Chun from us. We get quite a few boxers, some TKD, Karate, Aikido, JuJitsu, Tai Chi, you name it. I would agree though that something like wrestling can allow a practitioner to become proficient at the style in a shorter amount of time when compared to some complex martial arts. For example, while in Wing Chun, 3 months in we are still teaching proper form and hand, body, eye coordination. A 3 month wrestler has likely been conditioning and quite capable of taking someone down, example, the 3 month Wing Chun practitioner. However, given time, lets say 1 year+ when you compare someone of Wing Chun and Wrestling, you may see a much closer match up.

Martial arts is like religion. You have snake handlers, quakers and shakers, pentacostals, jehova's witnesses, mornons, etc. And the few arts that are viable, such as, jiujitsu, and perhaps a few well rounded arts that encompass all ranges of a conflict, are like scientists at a revival meeting. These folks that practice nonsense mean well, they love their art (religion) so much that they are blind to it's fallacies. Perhaps they innocently don't know better, are smart enough to avoid the effective arts, and in the end, strive to pay their bills by filling schools. Sadly, there's no board of directors that says: you don't get to spout nonsense unless you can prove to the board you are teaching something effective. So, everyone has this freedom to b.s. away...and it's shameful. But that's reality, I suppose. You won't see a single "martial artist" at a Gracie Challenge, that's for certain.

Your making a lot of assumptions and it seems like you don't really understand martial arts, yes, some places are very cult like in behavior but most of those places are actually in the west. Martial arts in the east are more like family ( obviously not in every case) and bjj is not as perfect as people make it out to be. Have you ever seen a Gracie challenge that didn't take place on a matt? I could go on but I won't, now if you really understood or at least did some research into martial arts you see a lot of similarities in sport ma and traditional ma, a lot of people fail to see than wing chun is just as based on leverage as bjj but it was designed to combat "long bridge" martial arts, it needs some changing but people like alan orr and Mr Izzo are doing that

@KrakenZer0

humans can't grow muscles over the throat or carotid artery. even an errant thumbnail can rip through an artery. light pressure will destroy the windpipe of anyone. the neck is a difficult-to-protect mass of veins, arteries and nerves that is easily damaged and imminently vital. this is why most fighters keep their heads in a chin tucked, forehead leading manner. in addition, control of the neck gives control of the head. instant KO and kill strikes are achieved every single day on the streets and in the ring by people of various skill levels. most real fights end in less than 10 seconds of bloody fury, unlike the prolonged battles in movies or competitions. this is because there are just some areas of the body that are always vulnerable, even in powerfully built hardened fighters. (e.g. groin, solar plexus, eyes, kneecap) this video was a live test of how WC techniques might apply to a very specific situation within a small span of time, skipping what may have happened before or after.
@brayj789
@brayj789 10 жыл бұрын
***** No, strikers keep their chins tucked to use the shoulders and delt muscles to protect the chin, jaw, and "vagus" sensitive areas, which cause knockouts. Everyone hopes to be abel to end a fight quickly with precise and "deadly" strikes, but to assume you can train to a point that you can do that every time is just rediculous, and ignores the complex, dynamic, and ever changing qualities fighting has. I've seen guys get knocked out plenty of times with 2-5 punch combos when they swore their initial "lethal" strike was going to end the fight. "My knee kick, groin strike, then thrown punch combo will end the fight immediately"--yea well when you go against someone who has trained in striking, and checks your knee kick, which throws you off balance immediately, your groin kick misses then and your throat punch ends up as an off balance shoulder tap--then your wide open, your "plan" has failed, and an experiences striker has you open to do damage--boom straight--hook to the body, hook the head. Your knocked out because you had a plan and it failed, instead of looking at a fight as a dynamic situation requiring reaction.

(Their neck is 3 foot off the ground tucked chin raised shoulders) Have you ever tried punching somebodies neck when their chin is resting on their chest as it should be? That comment alone clearly demonstrates you don't spar full contact with BJJ guys. Vale Tudo has unlimited throat and neck punching yet nobody gets hit there taking guys down as their shoulders are raised and their chin is tucked. Only chunners go around standing square with their chin poking out.

I was referring specifically to the video and what happened in the video, something you commented on but obviously didn't watch. In the video, did you not see how Nick was in striking range of the wrestlers' neck many times when he stopped them from getting too far in? He held his knife hand on their neck when in a real fight he could have struck it. Please avoid making assumptions about what I do and my experience. I am not a Wing Chun practitioner and would never fight the way Nick did in the video. Let's be objective about the subject at hand.
@myjizzureye
@myjizzureye 10 жыл бұрын
I have watched the video yes. The point is the end result is always the same. These guys or any half decent BJJ guy will always get you in the end. Yes you can "knife hand" on their neck, yes it will hurt them, yes it will do zero to prevent them getting position, yes they will remember that pain when they get you in control 15 to 30 seconds later. Watch the clock, these guys take seconds to get dominate position...seconds. What I have just said is souly related to this video. Now for reality in the cage match format the WC guys don't land a single blow before being taken down. (ask me for video evidence) It looks a lot easier than it is but in reality good grapplers can wiggle you towards them and thrust you away to make your hits miss time. I have prevented a lot of guys from completing chokes by rolling them onto my balled up fist in the middle of their back and compressing their spine on it making it hurt like hell when ever they try to get extension on the choke. This works in sparring as peoples pain thresholds are lower, in reality id be a dead man if the fight was real.
@Averagebum21
@Averagebum21 10 жыл бұрын
In the video, it's not just the knife hand...that was used because Nick wasn't allowed to punch to the neck. So he used the knife hand to try to create leverage. Notice also that in the ring there are plenty of rules. No eye gouges, no bites, no neck strikes/breaks, no joint breaks, no groin strikes = end of WC or any martial art except for those the rules favour. How can you expect a small martial artist to compete in the ring against a stronger person who is more skilled at wrestling and grappling with rules that take away all of the weapons of the former? It's similar to replacing fighting with arm wrestling. The smaller guy or the one less skilled at arm wrestling would always lose. MMA and UFC rules favour BJJ, Muay Thai, and Wrestlers, period. All small man martial arts rely on quick strikes to vital areas. BJJ and wrestlers are so used to fighting with rules that they can forget the game changes considerably when there are no rules. I am not a WC guy and would NEVER strike a wrestler on my way down. But I am trying to look objectively at the situation.

Izzo Warrior Academy - Fighting and Fitness Striking your opponent plays a huge part in your defense. The fact that your hands are being placed on their necks and faces says you've for the most part stopped them or beat them to the punch. @andreshito12
@andreshito12 9 жыл бұрын
+RC LIFT OFF! eye gouges are very situational, i would say that mostly they are useless, if you are very far you'll probably en up hurting your fingers, if your posture is broken like most of the time in this video they won't work. The ideal situation for an eye gouge would be when you are on the floor and controlling your opponent, but then there would be better techniques like chokes and locks or ground and pound that would be safer if you are on top or positions like that. And you can't clearly hit the neck when your opponent is on a lower position than you and with his chin tucked in. There aren't many videos of fights that allowed eye gouging, because of it's potential risk; but on the firsts ufc and vale tudo where it was allowed, it wasn't a big issue, actually most of the times it didn't even help, there were a few exceptions like some chins to the eyes, but they were totally dominating their opponents, so they would probably win even without the eye gouging. Well this is just my opinion

@fabrizzio monsalve boxing is part of kickboxing it's boxing with muay Thai kicks. Dutch style kickboxing for example. Lol but yeah if you are talking about starting out the best bases are boxing and wrestling. And that's sort of where I began. (Wrestling As a kid and kung fu. Tried boxing dropped kung fu. Legit kung fu is hard to find. Wind chun was shit for me. Fuck chain punching) Personally I'd branch off into CSW or catch wrestling and Dutch kickboxing if I had the resources but there's only American kickboxing and bjj here. So I'll take it.

He didn't have these guys trapped. He was going to get slammed. You have no idea what it's like to go 2 minute sparring with a wrestler. This is clear. The reason why you don't use both is, because Muay Thai is much more effective in the clinch than Wing Chun is.

A wrestlers centerline is there for the taking. Wrestlers lead with the head, a perfectly timed knee, elbow or punch to the head and it's lights out. If the Wing Chun practitioner can't take advantage of that exposer, and the wrestler get control of the leg, it's game over.

When they figured out the Russian tie destroyed your hand movement it was over. Really you have to look as all the techniques have value, but you still have to learn proven wrestling defenses. The guys never go very deep on there shots so a whizzer or sprawl would have stop them. I like how you show hand movement to the head without extending yourself too much. It shows a guy training takedowns every day will take you down so you better know how to survive and get out.

the only way to beat a wrestler with Wing Chun is to shoot them with a dart with anesthetic first coming from a Wing Chun fan if a wrestler grabs you ( in real life) Martial Arts dont matter, because in the end, one way or another, there is only one thing you can do start hitting them with any means ( you ll probably have elbows and knees more handy when you are caught in their grab) on any soft and sensitive point you can access (throat, eyes, groin, ribs) and hope to god you make it before they crush your bones

I began practicing Wing Chun from Sifu Duncan Leung over 30 years ago. Although I was not able to finish learning, the principles that I was taught helped me immensely in my boxing, wrestling, etc etc. I am particularly fond of Mr. Izzos statement regarding the "Wing Chun" Stance that we often see practitioners in just prior to them getting hammered by some other stylists. Its how you use the tools that matter and not the tools themselves.Thank you sir-AWESOME!

What people tend to forget is that Wrestlers are strong as hell and they train body on body ALL THE TIME (unlike traditional martial artists). And just because a person is a wrestlers, it doesn't mean he/she does not know how to punch, kick, use pressure points, or use dirty street fighting. Wrestlers know submissions, elbow pressure point pins, and numerous other dangerous techniques. If anyone thinks a few punches will stop a solid athlete trained in combat arts like wrestling, that person will be in the world of hurt. I trained in traditional martial arts and was proud of my master's lineage. I heard stories of great battles and myths about masters that came before him. I'm sure 90% of those stories were grossly exaggerated or just plain lies. WHen faced with an athlete, unless a traditional martial artist is very athletic, he/she will be in the world of pain.

To anyone who says that the reason you won't see Wing Chun in mma is because it wasn't meant for sporting contests: That's a copout;Most if not all martial arts were not meant to be used as sports, but nonetheless they were adapted to do so. When they were created, they had combat/self defense in mind , and when it was no longer necessary to fight, they modified their arts to suit sporting purposes.

exactly....almost every style of martial arts was made for self defence...all styles from karate to savate in original form have eye strikes, groin & throat strikes...but they all still compete....its a pure cop out from wingchun men...but then again...WC is a frawdulent style...if it ever competed it will always get flattened...that's why if it competes they always dump every single wingchun technique and they use western boxing, hard shin kicks, high kicks, sprawls etc...non of which are wingchun...one of the worst offenders for this is Alan Orr....his lads fight in mma and use pure muaythai, western boxing and bjj...but hes tells any 1 whol listen....his jab ,cross ,hook ,uppercut, thai clinch knees, head round round kick, sprawl ,arm bar....its all secret wingcun techniques he sez...they are all desperate to be accepted rather than admit they've wasted years training in shit

I think the most deadly thing with a wrestler is that in a fight they will look like some random trying to box like he saw on tv but then unexpectedly shoot for the legs. Just as one could get clinched and think nothing of it but then realize that the opponent is a judoka. How can one truly know if an opponent is a wrestler in advance?

Watch any MMA fight. Something interesting happens at a cool submission hold, hit pause to freeze the action. Take a look at the ‘victim.' You will notice that there is always a free hand usually holding onto the submitting limb of the opponent - essentially doing nothing useful to help the situation. You will also notice that 9 times out of 10 that free hand is in range of a vital area of the opponent (ie. the ears, eyes, throat, groin to name a few). So why doesn’t the victim reach back, grab the aggressor’s testicles and rip them off? Why doesn’t he reach up grab the ear and tear it off? Why didn’t he grab the opponent’s throat on the way, which was completely exposed and remove a few inches of the esophagus with a tiger claw or eagle claw or some other pincer type grip? Why didn’t he use the same grip with the opponent’s face right in front of him, as some other limb was in a submission hold, to grab the eyeball within the socket and remove the eye? The answer to all these questions is the same: Ha ha, you can’t do that, because it’s NOT ALLOWED in MMA. However, it is what happens in a real fight and Wing Chun Kung Fu.

If an experienced grappler gets a Russian on you like that, you won't have much time to "work the carotid". I keep hearing "What if I could strike?". The problem is that by striking you're opening up yourself even more for takedowns. Of course you have your weapons, but you're not exclusively focused on defense any longer either. Taking down someone with grappling experience (like OP) who is ONLY trying to defend is VERY difficult. I saw almost all of the breaks/switches coming here where the wrestlers had OP all but dead-to-rights for a takedown. I feel applaud you for exposing yourself here a little, but I can't help but feel there's a backhanded element here. All the "they can play their game but I can't play mine" and "what if we could strike?" business was being used as a rhetorical tool to insinuate that you'd be beating them if you could strike - which IMO is simply not true.

Hey Guy Fieri, you do realize that you're stronger than them so why do you keep repeating that they're stronger. Height doesn't equal strength dummy. They're 18? maybe younger now now don't you understand how 18 year olds' haven't fully developed in terms of strength? Obviously you're bigger and bulkier/more muscle so why do you insist on saying their stronger? Is it to make your claims more valid? Oh yeah you kept two kids from taking you down for 5 sec, am I supposed to be impressed? Yeah if you could hit them it'll make a difference but realize that they're kids and if you got a grown adult it'll be different. So I don't know much about you but I ASSUME your a master at your arts (wing chun) so why not get a D1 collegiate wrestler who is also more or less a "Master" at his art (wrestling). I guarantee you'll be on your ass faster than you can say "Bruce Lee can't take a punch." I agree with Helio, and believe he said it best when he brought up the fact that if you were to be striking so would your opponent. Also, you seemed to shower these kids with flattery about their strength and speed. That's fine and dandy, but NEITHER of those kids are heavier than you. They may have less body fat and therefor more muscle density, but you're extremely thick and appear very strong yourself. Also, they're still KIDS. And you my friend are NOT. You are a man, and one that has wrestled, and one that dedicated his life to fitness, so whoever buys into the whole "they're stronger than me, bigger than me, faster than me" nonsense is very, very naive. You have something called MAN STRENGTH, and they do not. This might've been more credible if you had used college or ADULT FILA wrestlers instead of teenagers. I wrestled in high school and have done submission grappling for close to 30 years. I'm 39 now, and when I go help out with the wrestling team at my former high school one of the advantages I have on almost all the kids in the room is that I AM stronger. And I'm only 180lbs at 6'1. I'm typically stronger than kids that are even 10-20 heavier than me. Some of them are a faster, and of course all of them are younger, but stronger... Yeah um, not so much. And Nico and Ernesto seemed to be getting in on you quite easily. And a lot of the slaps you were using are NOT allowed in high school folk style wrestling. Most of what you used seemed plausible, but definitely not all of it. And again, most wrestlers aren't afraid to strike in an NHB or street fight. And most wrestlers hit fucking hard from all the strength and conditioning training. I do appreciate your humility, dedication, and your obvious desire to learn. I've always said that no martial art is "bad" and it's great to learn as much as you can from as many styles as you can.

It seems people watching this video are asking different questions and so are getting different answers. So all the people who ask, "what martial arts is better/best" aren't really getting what this video is about. It isn't trying to figure out something for example, "what is the better/best kicker in kickball or soccer". There is no best, the players in those games have different objectives. Yes, they both want to win, but they are trying to win differently. The kind of question Mr. Izzo is asking is, "what can i apply that i know in WC in a grapple type of situation". Otherwise, what's the point of asking the question at all? Obviously wrestling will be better at wrestling, and WC will be better at strikes.

I think the "what if I could hit" wouldn't make this any better. I find actually striking an opponent is the best opportunity to get taken down yourself. I don't understand why many Wing Chun practitioners don't just learn a bit of wrestling, bjj or judo and incorporate it to their respective style, Bruce Lee did it. I used to box, and do no gi bjj, got wrecked by wrestlers and judokas, then I just did Judo and wrestling for a bit, and incorporated it into my body of knowledge. What's the big deal about that? Side note though, at least this guy was able to bring in some wrestlers, many others won't even do that and go on about hypotheticals.

Need to take this farther: 1. How to neutralize and thwart a grappling attack instead of just trying to block/prevent it. 2. What to do once a takedown is achieved. 3. How to redirect the takedown energy to put the opponent at severe disadvantage. 4. How to so badly defeat/thwart a takedown attempt that it creates a psychological hurdle in the opponent's mind, making him believe he should not try it again. Stated differently: turn his strength into a perception of weakness/futility.

Now I know 2 things 1) there is overwhelming evidence that wing chun is applicable 2) internet martial artists/mma allow some weird bias or vendetta against wing chun to completely ignore said evidence and completely ignore logical arguements. Among these anti WC people who claim to be martial artists, who claim to be adults, I've heard such things as" yeah let's run this fraud off the internet" and " the chun is strong with that one". For anyone doubting Mr Izzo, he spent his high school and college years wrestling, he also has a background in boxing and law enforcement. He knows what it takes to survive in the real world. In this video he said he had multiple opportunities to strike, others have said the kids could have easily hit back given the opportunity, these people are clearly speaking from a biased view as it is obvious that both kids were committing both arms and at times their entire bodies to bringing him down, Mr Izzo is aware of this but others refuse to see it.

The name of the video was a little poor as you didn't really beat these wrestlers. Plus most people will see the title of this video and assume that its the standard Wing Chun master talking about how he will just step back and chain punch a wrestlers face into the ground or other such nonsense. That said I was relatively impressed with the video. Less because of any techniques but more because of how you approached it. You are actually testing your stuff against a wrestler and sure you would have been taken down every time but you got yourself a few more seconds in the process. Testing and refining Wing Chun by sparring should eventually improve Wing Chun as it changes and Adapts. Hopefully then we will be able to take the parts of Wing Chun that works and use them more often and throw away some of the less practical parts we may end up with Wing Chun being a useful and well respected art such as Boxing or Muay Thai. Instead of an Art where you can safely assume most practitioners have never thrown a punch against someone trying to punch them back. I really hope you keep sparring and testing your stuff.

From an unawares state of desperation does the distorted man cling to his 'this' & 'that' arguments in order to justify his beloved long term delusions of combat. Its always somewhat painful to watch a blind man fumble his way through a deaf mans record collection in order for a dumb man to try and sing them on a broken Karaoke machine:-).

As a Wing Chun man you have to sprawl against a double leg takedown, then you can start delivering strikes to the back of the neck, throat, or head. Just because it's the same leg takedown defense in other martial arts doesn't mean you're no longer using Wing Chun, from the Wing Chun perspective it's just protecting your center. No need to make up new takedown defenses that won't work just because it's Wing Chun.

so this would be an experiment. take an mma guy that has trouble defending take down and introduce him to wing chung the to help him stop the take down. document the results in a video, MMA is a great testing ground because it has limited rules and allows fighters from all different back grounds. Im not trying to "call you're bluff" i am just curious.

Ok so, the reason why this is a pipe dream is because in a real fight or mma or whatever, shots are being thrown and levels are being changed, there is A LOT of take down defense work that can be channeled through all sorts of styles, the point is that you have to perform it in real time and against others timing structures. It doesn't work..flat out..just doesn't work. The best take down defenses are overcome ALL the time.

That was dumb. Those wrestlers used no head manipulation to set up their takedowns. Get a good wrestler in there to put you on your back and beat you up. Sorry, but Wing Chun is not practical at all.

Im sure you good at your practice, but to sum it up Bjj takes all. I respect all forms of art, and Wing Chun in itself is a great system for self defence. But in a cage against a grappler theres very little chance of survival.

+Xenia Hemsworth That's my thinking. No good martial artist in a street fight is going to allow himself to be taken down this way. You might add some kicks, too. His inventory of weapons will destroy any wrestler before he can get his grip. But this wasn't a street fight, so it just wasn't possible for him to use all his methods because somebody was bound to get seriously hurt.

Wing Chung as as all Chinese martial arts were created for real fights situations where is was normal to use blades to kill your enemies and chances are that your enemies came with friends, if you take the blades away it favors all the wrestling arts, but for all of us that come from the streets we know that we have to remain and fight on our feet and not take anyone down because our enemies friend can just come from behind and Crack a bottle on our head or stub you from behind, so guys as you see wrestling which is a sport was created for a sport control setting, if you are going to fight one on one, empty handed fight the wrestler with wrestling, with Brazilian juice jitsu, with wink Chung , with kick boxing end of the story

A good martial artist doesnt restrict himself to one style. He compensates for his weakenesses with other styles in order to have a strong defense as well as an offense. Hence why most opt for brazilian jiu jitsu and judo, turning defense into offense.

This is complete bullsh*t. The WC guy would get his arse kicked in a real scrap against these wrestlers. They'd take him to the floor and he'd be in submission in no time. Quite apart from the fact that he's so out of shape his lungs would be screaming in no time at all. A more proficient WC practitioner may fare better but in my opinion would lose against the wrestler/grappler probably every time.

This is why I can't take competition in martial arts. There were so so many instances where someone could have kicked a head in due to an all out commitment of the head to the ground.

Thanks for the comment. Commenters must remember, this is what we had to work with. And I worked with 2 of them back to back...20 years younger than me. And who said that a 18 year old attacker is any less dangerous than a 38 year old one or if you ever get to pick the age of your enemy? Nothing is ever good enough for some youtube critics.

I don't know to much about Wing Chun but it looked like wrestling. You were backing out stalling and when they did get in on you. Your counter argument was "if I could strike" two things A: You would have been on your back before you could strike. The tall one hit you with a sweet high crotch, and single leg or was in a deep double leg position. B: You were on one leg, falling backwards, or moving backwards to avoid the takedown how mustard could you get on a strike to be effective?

Absolutely right, adaption is everything. That's my problem with this. I hate MMA guys that basically say everything that isn't MMA sucks, but the only thing I hate more than that are WC guys that refuse to adapt. NEWS FLASH: The MMA argument does have, to some extent, a point. So what you gonna do? Refuse to accept this? Or are you going to adapt? Sifu Wang Zhi Peng said that we must co-operate with MMA people, so we can learn how to defeat new enemies and new techniques.

i'm not saying that if you know wing chun you are invencible, but knowing other styles personaly I think wing chun in close combat is very effective even against a jiu-jitsu guy. Remember bruce lee words, be like water an try to adapt to any situation and be yourself. Good video by the way thanks for sharing your knowledge ;)
