I am very proud to say that my friends and I were able to see Guns N' Roses one time with Izzy at the very beginning of the Use Your Illusion Tour with Skid Row at the Inglewood Forum. We walked out of there delirious for three days talking about the show over and over again, no joke. Make no mistake about it, there was something almost paranormal about that band, even with Gilby. Thank God we have You Tube to post these bootleg and occasional pro-shot videos to relive some of that magic. Izzy is without question one hell of a talent and the way Izzy and Slash blended together is impossible to put into words.

@@Godloveszaza Izzy was very supportive for Axl when he had to come to Los Angeles to become a rock star. He was her best friend, and they both believed they could go far. It's not just what he brought to Guns And Roses. It was a very strong pillar that had to be there for the band to continue destroying everything as it always did. When he left, even Axl must have thought it wasn't even worth it anymore. In fact, after he left, they didn't release any more albums. It's an amazing band that wasn't meant to last long. But they left such a large stellar mantle that to this day we are all grateful for it.

+Brandon Henderson Izzy had arguably the biggest heroin problem of all them. He was a huge heroin dealer in Los Angeles in the early-mid 80's. Of course he got completely clean in '91 and stopped doing all drugs and drinking while Adler, Slash, and Duff continued using but you can't act as if Adler was the lone druggie in the band.
@distantandvague8 жыл бұрын
No, I know this. It's just Adler's problems still seem to be an issue in his life, which is very likely why he was not included in the reunion (or Axl just really loves Frank Ferrer, I don't know).
@danimal0975218 жыл бұрын
+Gage Horn Except the rest of them cleaned up...while Adler did not. Hell he toured with Duff a couple years back and by his own admission was loaded and drunk of his ass for that...just 2 years ago. And think about it this way. Back in '89/'90 his drug use was so bad that the other drug addicts in the band were looking at his going "holy shit he's to far gone". I'm sure Adler's a nice guy, but damn...

GnR came out just as I discovered pot. I remember listening to them on headphones in a dark room while deeply stoned for possibly the first time... & the rhythm of each song was what, somehow in a "this only happens once" kind of experience, sent electric pulses zinging up & down my nervous system, SYNCHRONIZED to Izzys rhythmic patterns.... I never recaptured that experience no matter how much of what I smoked but I recall it vividly to this day. & have ever since (this was, like, 87) thought of Izzy as the true essential element of the sound.

This is the first time I've heard this and I like it. Manages to sound laid-back and cool yet upbeat and somewhat driving. Makes me think back to more innocent times gone by before the internet was mainstream. Cheers!

All the songs of Izzy Stradlin are very good. Makes me Remember the core of the old and good rock and roll. For sure, classic rock.

Saw this club tour in Detroit Michigan and won a signed framed flat promo for it working at a record store from the company for a promotional display I did. All these years later it's still a highlight of my life. Amazing album. B sides are tight as well.

The Mick Taylor of Guns. The most talented, the most melodic, and leaves at their height because they weren't true to his vision. Can't fake that.

Guys, everybody writing about Izzy deserving more recognition.Even if he got it he wouldn't care, that's why he's so cool. GNR fans salivate over Axl, Slash and Duff 'cause they incarnate their need for a higher being, they live their audience fantasies, Izzy on the other hand lives his own. Coolest cat ever.

Fall 1992...got my first radio job. Had to go in for minor surgery. Listened to this CD about 100 times while recuperating. 25 years later, it is in my car's CD player. Killer debut album from one of rock's most unsung songwriters.

Izzy Stradlin with Axl Rose WAS the Guns N' Roses!

+Sarah Karolini That's cause GNR was Axl and Izzy's Creation, their Baby, they only were looking to extend their band so then they found Saul ''slash'', Duff and Steven.

Yes, everybody just cares about Slash, but they forgot the man who was the heart of GN'R. Izzy 💙

''slash'' has one of the most bloated egos in the music industry, no offense, Izzy on the other hand is a Humble, Gentle Musician who barely gets recognition.

+Jamie Hellfire I agree. As much as I love Slash and his solo work, also in GN'R, I love Izzy as much as him, he wrote the songs, it was definitely the heart of the band. He deserves the highest recognition, just for being who he is. He could be "cold", closed, quiet, and it was a real competent musician. I miss him and his friendship with Axl.

Izzy fue el genio en el cuerpo del monstruo llamado guns n roses... Los demás eran los ejecutores... Es increíble como un hombre tan sencillo compuso Don't Cry ó You could be mine.
@marinadiamondz Жыл бұрын
@sebastiancaro6120 Жыл бұрын
