Bizarrely the thing that impressed me most about this video is that you didn't feel the need to relentlessly take the piss out of of the last guys work. But ALOT could be down to circumstances. I wasnt there when it was first built. So there could be very very valid reasons for some things being out and that. End of the day, were all in the same boat...most of us trying to do a half decent job 💪 Appreciate the support Jim! Plenty videos coming. Thinking about doing daily videos on this project

I liked the part you put in training the new guy, I worked 4 years hod carrying and had to watch and teach myself everything I eventually learned. My boss was the owner of a small company and my mistake was showing more initiative than his son, the guy I was carrying for. Best thing I learned is if I'm gonna sling bricks around for a living I wasn't gonna do it for someone else.

Didn’t realise you are from Nottingham Izzy when I was labouring,before I decided I wanted to lay the bricks not load out I cycled from wollaton to ruddington at half five to then get a lift with one of the bricklayers to Coventry a full days hard graft drive back to Rudd then cycle home to wollo that lasted for 14 months then the bricklayers got a job on the new builds opposite chilwell retail park,and I left after 16 months when that estate was finished, been a bricklayer ever since I completed levels 1,2,3 in 96,your right,the work is out there you have to be passionate enough to go after it 👍🏻

When you inherit jobs there will always be issues, the only way to rectify these is to be patient, have common sense ideas and re- set out, plus you must have lots of patience, you have all the above in abundance, great vid Izzy

Good on you mate, that’s never an easy task when you jump onto someone else’s work at that stage and start to discover all the little (or big) things that aren’t right. Once you’ve got it all the way you want it it will be a good job for you by the look of it 👍

Really enjoyed watching this. Work as a labourer and mainly labour for brickys and always enjoy helping them out. Always on the lookout for apprenticeships would love to be a bricky. Learning a few golden tips from your measuring out, most people think bricklaying is easy and it’s just slapping a bit of muck on a brick 😂

Mate, I got my NVQ 2 years ago never even used it....never even stepped foot in a college for bricklaying. I learnt everything I needed to know from others more experienced than me

It's always difficult init James, but like you said, I'm not there to slate someone, as I don't know the circumstances. The weather could have been against them, or maybe there head wasn't in a good place. I made a right cock up on Monday simply because my headspace wasn't Very good that day.
