There must be a LARGE air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the OUTER wall inside the cavity ; this includes an air space gap in between the face of the insulation and the cavity-wall-tie drip points(which are in the centre of the cavity). Know you don't give 2 sh@'s about an old timey Texas Bricky of the mid 70's Izzy. But here goes... Fresh out of the U.S. Paratroopers; my desires were to work the summers learning to become a Texas brick a layer & a stone a mason during the summer months & earn a degree towards becoming a high paid Psychiatrist during the winter seasons. First day on a residential job as a helper I learned to make the formula of the mortar. That night it had rained so the formula was offset to the point of almost running off the mud boards of the foreman & his bricky. He then whispered to me - ''Hey Rock: think you could move that 55 gal. water barrel a little farther from the mixer for that next batch of the day?'' @ which I replied ''No sweat boss.'' And upon my return for the 2nd wheel barrow load: I took the time to steering wheel that now nearly full 400 lb. drum of water 2 rounds away from the mixer. Whereupon both he, the other mason, & both their helpers stood fast in awe as I shouted out to the foreman... ''How's That Boss?'' I'll never forget to this day the first time I saw his trowel bury 2''' deep into his scaffold floor board: as he then leaped from it & proclaimed for all to hear... ''Dammitt All Son! Your gonna make a bricklayer. You got a strong back & a weak mind!'' From that point on, he saw to it to get me up on his walk board to spread his mud before him & to hand him his brick: each time we hit the long money walls from the front garage, to the kitchen, to the back yard of the homes. I'll shut up now with the gestalt of my thesis of it all... ''There's no construction material touched & adjusted more, on any building than that of the lowly brick or stone. None!'' ~Just another one of those many one's of ''We The People'' Who's awaiting His Just⚖Return🪃- as The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. ~Psalm 118:22
