Recently there's been an uptick in videos on Instagram and Tiktok advertising 'digital clothing' app DressX, which pitches the idea of wearing 3D virtual clothing instead of real clothing. Sound ridiculous? Yeah, it is- and it also looks terrible. Let's dive in!

Regular clothing brands, luxury brands and fast fashion brands all have websites and provide worldwide shipping. It could make a great tool for online clothing shops so customers can try out how clothes look on them without having to buy then, especially useful for more eccentric or extravagant/avant-garde clothing, as is much of the clothes we see here, or for fashion designers to see how their envisioned design would work in the real world(or as close as possible to it). This is cool idea if used in the right place except for the fact it’s nfts and you have to buy outfits and have to use their store and it’s supposed to somehow replace real clothes and .. can’t forget how it looks awful Like it’s similar to vtubing tech which I think IS cool and it even probably could be useful in some very specific circumstances but their marketing is way off ngl no one wants NFT bullshit you’d want just a 3D model file and you can use it on a bunch of different softwares and not rely on some shitty app but actually good processing power like a PC so it looks half decent and even then the use case is pretty limited..
