36mmの際鉋でしたら、定盤で平面を出した後軽くすき取って使ってます。 刃口の台頭よりを少し残すことで小さな部材でも安定して使う事ができます。 ただ使っていて問題ないのであれば平面でもいいと思いますよ。

I searched for information about your question, but couldn't find anything useful. There are few skilled Japanese craftsmen who disclose their skills. I've always wanted to know about this, so I'd like to personally try various methods.

Thank you for your detailed answer. If the Japanese craftsmen are correct, they have not written down their "secrets" (working techniques). They were always passed on orally.
