There are a lot of positives about Sruthi Sagar: his total commitment, devotion, his baaNi, dedication. Where he could improve is on tonal quality particularly when playing the higher notes. I am sure he will do so with time.

Heavenly Flute!
@sumanthganapathibasavapatn1412 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. However, the tonal quality of higher notes is sometimes lowered by the instrument itself, and blowing harder to produce a more tonally correct pitch results in screeching noise. So it's most likely a technical difficulty.

Delightful beginning with Guruvayoorappa Kshetra darshana kirtana by globetrotting Dikshitar "Sri Krishnam bhajamanasa" in Thodi!! I met the young KPNandini during the 2011 academy season. She and a male friend of hers were so sweet to this old man visiting form the USA. We chatted on my love for MDR's music. She ran off for dinner hitching a lift from the friend's bike. She waved a goodbye for me as I too went for supper at Woodlands. Nandini's violin adds luster to Sagar's brilliant pullamkuzhal! Greetings to all three musicians. Hamsanadam and a rare song. How sweetly rendered with the pakkom excelling. Nandini's mellow gap filling out of this world. I love it. Ha ha ... "Tavapadame ???" This is a new song for me. Hamsanadam is sweet you know. Suh-Huh-Na and what? Delightfully restrained but retaining the full flavour of Sahana by Nandini !! ... this is what makes this short kutcheri one of the best. No doubt. Rama ika nannu? Vandanau raghunandana sethu bandhana bhaktachandana? I vasudhani vantidaivamu? Nandini's solo take is superb; she can sing too! Giripai (Sriramadarshanakirtana!!!), JayajayaRaghurama(Swathi Thirunal)? Govindanadhyana(Purandaradasar)? With rupakatalam Raghupate Rama Ravana bhima Hyderabad Bros and DKJ loved to sing this Thyagarajaswamikal song. Sahana was owned by him. "Giripai" was his crowning glory. No doubt. The late and honourable Indian President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's favourite song was that!! Did Andhra's man former President V V Giri(Kerala's governor too) loved Giripai? , I sometimes wonder. Sahana neraval and swaroms out of this world. When Shruthi Sagar raises his pullakuzhal the receding fading sounds add to the hearing pleasure "immensely", as MDR would say in his impeccable English nurtured to full fruition at Kalakshetra library. Sweet layavinyasom![9 loser morons did not like this recital] Yaman? Yamunakalyani? No matter how sweet as the kutcheri is sadly coming to a close. Namaskar

Can some one post the list for the benefit of the rest
Was wondering. How can we be sure this is really Music Academy and not India Fine Arts or Yankee Stadium? Perhaps they could put the typeface right accross the lotus, or instead of Thiruneeru Vibhuti, the flautist could have it written on his forehead! LOL....so cheesy...
@musicstudent50263 жыл бұрын
Takes you back to the old times. I mean literally. High pitched Flute sounds. Music is fairly slow and good. If reminiscing of the past is what some think of, as an achievement, I disagree. In my humble opinion it is nothing but a cut and paste job. Instrumental concerts are meant to push things beyond the edge and cant be equated to Vocal concerts. This performance, though caters to the vocal music lovers, lacks innovation and anything suggestive of pushing the boundries. Some of the Carnatic Flute Maestros have already taken this instrument to dizzying heights and this concert falls much below those standards. Expectations on upcoming talents like Sruthi Sagar is indeed a lot and hope he comes good.

You listened to this spectacular performance and this is what you took away?
@musicstudent50263 жыл бұрын
@@rarara2412 As a student of Music, that is sincerely my take away from the concert. Music is not a cut and paste job. Presentation of Music involves many other factors and especially ones own contribution.
