This is by far my favorite boat. Compact size, everything you need and nothing you don’t.

I sailed Hull#2 over 400 miles in a 30knot headwind and 4m seastate on a delivery to the UK. Simply the best Yacht I have sailed, we have Hull #5 coming to the Uk, we represent a number of brands and the J is the best built.

which brands do you represent except J?

Beautiful! Glad they kept the fine entry bow: it was very much appreciated on our J-133 when we were going into swell around point conception in California. It also tracks extraordinarily well going down swell, and doesn’t try to push of one side or the other. Looks like very much a sailboat rather than just a living room, and a fantastic sailboat at that!

Thank you I've been waiting for this. I would love to see the J/99 also 💙

Anyone else that would like to see some sailing on a Dragonfly 40? Can't see Covid being an insurmountable mountain when it comes to getting hold of one of those... ;-)

Nice looking boat, interior is more modern than recent J boats. Surprised there was no adjustment for the genoa tracks leading to the cockpit. But I'm sure it's quick.

Great boat . Rm 1380 and this boat for me the best choice for a Real cruising's sailboat

Asking myself if it might be the time for a keel standing mast tiller steering cruiser… hm, hey might you go for testing the „SPEEDLOUNGER“? ;) would love to see you go into some hard winds with one!

this boat looks absolutely amazing but the price is absolutely insane. Im commisioning a custom performance cruiser very similar to this. its a LOT lighter amd has the exact same features inside and sails a lot faster . and the price came out to about 1/3rds of this

Js all ways remind me of Laure Davidson (Kiwi) yachts & They sailed fast

Love it, Love that it is an American Boat and company. A 1.8 meter sleep-able couch. That is only 5 foot 9 inches. I'm 1.98 meters tall. I'm not fitting on that boat. Has Yachting World ever reviewed a boat big enough for someone 6'6" tall? Sailing seems to be for short people.

@@yachtingworld I didn't see it either. Price is the most important data point for me. I wish you'd put it in the written summary for every review you do.

I have to say as a owner of modernish monohull sailboat , they all look the same 🤔
@Kemxt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, would be nice to see some variety especially in the cockpit layout and locations. If you want something beside an open transom cockpit not as many to choice from. Sirius yachts has is a bit unique

A sail drive? really? Thought this was a cursing boat. Never met a cruiser that thought drilling a huge hole in the bottom of the boat, for no good reason, was the right thing to do.

I like the boat but the finish leaves a lot to be desired. Internal finish of the forward hatch is very rough ( cost saving, lack of workmanship ?) and at 3.09 there is a rust stained bolt and a brand new boat 😳😳
@erikjanssen6475 Жыл бұрын
Funny I saw that same rusty bolt and was like.. "Ooh no how is that possible?"Makes me wonder about the rest of the construction..
@timothysmith1603 Жыл бұрын
I noticed the same finish issues that you mention. The rest of the boat seems nicely done. I had to ask myself how these details made it through final inspection.
@Ivanna_Jerkov2 жыл бұрын
Sadly, the finish where you are going to be looking at a boat show is beautiful. But where you are not going to notice it - like lockers - until after you take ownership shows a lack of pride in workmanship. And more personally, all the stitches you'll require from tearing your head and limbs on ragged fiberglass. Real pretty but no thanks.
@richardjoy50602 жыл бұрын
Agree, the finish around the inside of the forward hatch appears to be very second rate for a brand new boat.
@angela1984a2 жыл бұрын
For those that otherwise like this boat - isn't some ragged fiberglass in a locker easily fixed with some sanding and a little paint?... Or maybe the yard can do it for you at production for an extra fee... Guessing it wouldn't be that expensive all things considered... Just agree on a specified finish when commissioning the boat...

When you check the review of a J boat you expect sailing and handling shots and comments….worst review I have seen from YW !
@yachtingworld2 жыл бұрын
It's not a review and wasn't claiming to be. It's a quick tour of the boat while I had the chance to film it during European Yacht of the Year trials! The review is in Yachting World's April issue
