I bet if I watch this again after 20 years, I'll still be damn entertained! They have this unbreakable tandem, the showmanship, charisma and you just feel like every time you watch J & C perform, it makes you think of warm hugs and lovely kisses on the cheeks. This is 100 percent entertainment at its best. You don't need to rely on fancy lights or moving screen with backup dancers. Just give em' a props and leave the rest to them.

first, it's 2021 and I'm still enjoying watching them perform forever on KZbin. Now, one thing I didn't see anyone mention is I'm guessing this was maybe done in 1988 or 1989 (based on the song, Don't Worry, Be Happy). That would put Carol at 55-56 and Julie at 53-54. Not only are they looking great for that age, they are moving on that stage pretty well. time hadn't slowed them down yet when they performed this.

This special was done at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood in 1989. I was lucky enough to be sitting in the orchestra section for one of the tapings. It was done twice. I guess one was a dress rehearsal. Will never forget it.

Their singing here is near perfect, a singer in her 50’s is in the absolute prime of her career, and it sure sounds like it here.

Sooo... hilarious and fun! Both Carol and Julie, being the professionals they are, made it look so effortless and flowing. You could see the real joy and fun they were having together and their close bond and friendship shines through! Loved their rendition of "Memories" with Julie whistling like birds and howling like a wolf. Carol's voice is expressive and strong, while Julie's voice shows her range, versatility, sweetness to sass. Have always loved them both so much!! Thanks for posting this precious gem!

Wow, still fantastic. I just watched this with a friend of mine, and he did not get the statue of liberty reference. The funny thing is -- I was born in '73. He was born in "59. I love the comradery and skill. Nobody's ego seems to get in the way. I will revisit this in another three months, and laugh and learn. If anyone else has video of Julie and Carol, I urge you to post it. I don't have too many hard days (comparatively), but when I do, this is what makes me laugh.

Though I'm posting this 5 years after your post, so I _hope_ you've found other clips of them together, I'd just say to anyone in the same position - i. e. just found them together - do! IMO - despite it being 1962 bad kinescope - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6q3c4yih7dmfpI sums up their interaction best: each sending up their own character (Carol brash US, Julie ladylike English). But the 1960 medley is good too.

i caught something, the la la la and the ornamental turn she does proves that Julie has perfect pitch, Carol plucked a half tone higher and yet julie started in the right key.
