We mess with each other but one thing is for sure, I took a lot of good things from Tim. His problem solving skills, work ethic and ability to run a crew has surely played the biggest part in my overall success so far in life. Tim was the guy on the crew that would see you struggling with something (likely pissed off it wasn't done yet) and yell over to you the exact way to win the battle in the fastest, most efficient and quality way. Huge thanks to this man and if you guys appreciate the videos I'd appreciate if you hit the like button. None of this would be possible if it wasn't for guys like him leading the way! Feel free to comment below and tell me about the crew leaders that helped shape you into the hard workers that I know you all are. I'd love to hear even just one thing you learned from somebody on your crew that has helped you out the most. For me, I wanted to be the guy with all the answers like Tim was. It encouraged me to show up everyday and dare to be great.

Nice job guys! My work ethic came from busting out 3 story cedar shakes for 5 years with a bunch of former inmates. Next time you do a J-channel video can you get a close up on the tabs you fold I seen something that I can take from it but couldn't see how it was done. Thank you guy 💪💪🤘🤘

@NWIVeteranConstruction
@NWIVeteranConstruction 3 жыл бұрын
lol yea those lil L cuts leave gaps in the corners, back when we both worked for our old boss a homeowner complained about the "gaps" and they have a point, if you look after the siding goes up there's gaps where you can see wood/house wrap or the window nail flange. doing it like the notching tool doesn't take much longer as you can see and it looks/functions better too

I have never seen anyone take so long to put J channel around a window. You guys do things totally different than down here in the south. Gotta remember you ain't building no piano. The main thing I want to know is where are you guys getting all these one story houses that are so close to the ground? Have you ever seen a 30 foot walk board? Have you ever started at the ground and finished by hanging the soffit and fascia last? As in starting at the ground and completing everything as you go up?

@@NWIVeteranConstruction I'm almost 70 years old started hanging siding when I was 15 and hung into my 30's then took a job in a plant as a maintenance man until I got laid off. My dad died in 95 and in 98 I had a heart attack and to date 16 stents and open heart with 3 bypasses. So I seriously doubt you could out hang me during my prime. I really cant tell exactly how you're going about installing and cutting the channel. If your trying to miter it all on a 45 it's not wood so really no need for all that. We worked as a team one cut the other hung everything especially after we reached ladder height. We did use a homemade miter box once one of us was off the ground mainly for soffit and short runs between windows and such. Seldom did we install siding or the accessories on a wall that wasn't covered with a foil on paper type vapor barrier and or foam core. Get back to work you can't make any money sitting down you're just a nickle holding up a dollar. LOL
