Nice video. We refer to that style of valley as a no cut valley.

I'm a 25+ year journeyman Brick, Block, and Stone Mason. Several years ago I started my own construction company and In that time, as one would imagine, I've worked directly and/or indirectly with all sorts of contractors of the different trades and I'm currently getting ready to replace the roof and gutters on my own home. Unfortunately, due too the lack of quality, trust and poor workmanship of a lot of companys in and around our area these days I felt like I'd be better off doing the work myself. After watching a couple videos, perhaps hoping for a little extra added boost of confidence and reassurance in my own abilities I happened to stumble upon this video with title sparking my curiosity. Even though I am more than capable of doing the job I am certainly not a trained skilled roofer by any shape of imagination, but I must say that was pretty fucking impressive! You obviously do not and should not feel you have to explain yourself to any of the jealous crybaby fucking haters that question or criticized you on what and how your doing it! I do know enough to clearly see that!That was very fucking impressive! I definitely feel more confident and reassured in mine and my guys ability to get the job done after watching you work! Thank you sir for that!

I like to put two squares together at the ridge and find the true center and snap a reference line 18 inches below that. Then I snap the starter and adjust accordingly.

Just find the pitch of the roof and make an angle cutting saw table jig ... This is not the most efficient way but i have used it.

AWESOME video, I learned a lot! I am a 75-year-old Vietnam vet getting ready to do my own 49-square roof myself, what tips do you have for me? Also, why did you not use the Felt Buster all the way up the roof, what is the black underlayment all around the bottom? Thanks

I hope to plan a gable dormer in a new house build --- It will be for an upstairs bathroom -- I want the width of the bathroom to be 10 feet wide -- I am not sure how it will look with the rest of the house -- Just curious at how wide this dormer was?

All the more reasons why customers that are cheap are stupid. They will spend more money solving a problem they caused by hiring the cheapest price v. Doing it once and doing it right!

So I snapped my line 2.5 inches up out of the valley. Was confused at first but I got it right. At first I thought you snapped the line in the center of the valley. But I watched it over again and figured it out.

I’d also say if you are not too safe on a roof use a blower as many time as you want to prevent from sliding

Everywhere I drive throughout the day , none of the new homes OR the older homes with new roofs have these types of valleys. I've only seen a few. Most are woven, exactly like the manufacturer videos expressly tell us not to do, because it voids their product warranty. Am I seeing an opportunity here, to be able to share this information with homeowners who are not aware of this or maybe the home insurers themselves? I would love an opportunity to go in and correct this problem. I would welcome any advice.

You lost me at setting up a cut table being a waste of time buy some folding horses and make a siding table with a cordless saw takes what ten mins to set up? And your guys aren't bent over all day tweaking their back and wasting time getting up and down over and over slower and slower as their lower plates in their back compress more and more obviously not every situation calls for it but if your working in one area for more than a few hours I think it's worth doing
@bibbidi_bobbidi_bacons15 күн бұрын
The house wrap is on wrong. Supposed to think like a drop of water. The over lapping should allow water to stay on the outside of the barrier. Shouldn’t matter with siding on it but hey
