I worked as an assistant at the studio where J Cole made 2014 Forrest Hills Drive. He was hands down the nicest 'celeb' I met during my time there. I got to see him many times over those four months and on every occasion he was always warm, kind and respectful to staff. His whole crew was also super friendly too. I remember hearing Wet Dreams in it's creation stage and thinking "damn this songs gonna be huge" lol. Those fellas worked 24/7 on making that album, I learned what true work ethic was in the studio by seeing that. Loved this doc, great work!

Well, I hope that he retires after a super successful falloff release(multiplutinum album) plus a grand world tour.... Capping off a perfect rap career finally winning all the critical acclaimed mainstream awards for the best artist of the year (Grammys, VMAs, BETs etc... Sh*t, even the Pulitzer award since he is the greatest urban poet of our time imo).... Then retiring into role of majority soon to be Billionaire owner of the Charlotte Hornets (coinciding with his basketball theme in his albums ie the warm up, the come up, friday night lights, the off season and the fall off) while also continuing as a new school top music executive with dreamville/livenation and top producer with the alias Killedward identifying next generation talent for the rap culture.... and appearing occasionally on nextgen features.

He has never leaned in on the Jay z/rocnation godfather image behind his scene like Kanye did.... Infact, he actually kept away from the label in his most recent released albums with little album promo from the elite music and marketing company Rocnation/livenation... leaning more to his self created label, Dreamville as his main promoter.... Rocnation actually hyped Meek Mill more since his prison release than their most successful label artist with six number 1 realsed albums nearly all of them going platinum(yeah, Cole has been more commercial successful for Roc than Jay Z himself).

@Spacial I didn't know he'd bought his mom's house like that or that he had plans to turn it into a spot for single moms. I'm a single mom struggling, and hearing that made me tear up bc we get so little recognition or credit for the struggle we go through, I really thought that was beautiful.

Sadly nobody likes real artist anymore He always stayed true to himself and the industry wants you to sell your soul and become somebody else to fit the mainstream

@@c0rxpseb0i13He is literally incredibly mainstream to this day. A-Class feature after A-Class feature for like 2 years. So much Hip-Hop media and culture anticipation for his album ironically called The Fall Off. If Coles current popularity is considered a fall off then idk lol 🤷♂️ If nobody likes real artists anymore then I guess Cole ain’t real, because his name been popping up non-stop for a good couple years now, he is literally at his all time peak mainstream popularity as I comment.
