I’m just gonna say it, for me personally speaking, this is the best album of the year thus far. It’s just a perfect album. The soul samples, the lushness of the orchestration, the raw old school feel, the rapping is fire, the lyricism superb, nothing is forced, every track is expertly executed, the guest spots are incredible. It’s like Mos Def, The New Danger era + Anderson.Paak’s Malibu had a baby and hired Gnarls Barkley to babysit 😂🤣It’s just perfect. Pride Is The Devil is my fav. on the album but the whole album is an instant classic, pure 🔥

I love J Coles music and fuck with it heavy but I wish he would stop the "street life" "poverty" "thug" talk. Like com'on he was an army brat who grew up in Fayetteville which aint Compton or dangerous and army brats families have money and he was a good student and excellent basketball player plus I've lived in Fayetteville for 10 years so I know he exaggerates a little bit. I mean if he just wants to stunt cool but if he wants to act like he actually grew up on the streets thats a stretch but maybe he feels like he has to say that to relate to the fans more I dunno

J cole is a dope artist but (for me) nothing really stands out that makes me want to listen to the song again (like i have to force myself to listen to it again) ...as opposed to Tech , Kendrick , Eminem ,NF ,black thought....in every song these artists have something that stands out like a Flow , cadence , rhyme scheme , subject...that makes me feel like an addict...that I gotta listen that song again and again.
