it’s the people he came up across. spending time and rapping with earl sweatshirt, ab soul, kendrick, etc made him go up a notch with his lyricism. hanging with thundercat influenced his production. being with artsits like ty dolla sign helped him with the singing. i have been following Mac since 2010 and the way he wanted to grow as an artist and as a person just inspired me, still does

@Dion B It was incredible to witness. He was a legit musical genius. He taught himself to play 4 or 5 different instruments by the age of 8. He was constantly trying to progress which can be tough when you have had enormous success in one genre but he was fearless. It’s scary to follow your heart and not the money. By the end of his career I don’t think there is a single genre of music you could box him into. He was so original and honest in his work. I didn’t really become a fan until Watching Movies but he changed so much from that album in 2013 until his passing it was incredible. It’s so nice to see how many people appreciate his music as much as I do.

Listening to his albums helped me grieve and wake up from a depression brought about by my mother's death. I still listen to his music every day. Thanks for doing another Mac Miller song. He died when he was 26. I get angry when I think about the talent that is gone now. He has so many unreleased songs, so there will be more coming out. Last year the CD 'Circles' came out and it is even more artistic. Not as hard, but more dark than anything else. It's a vibe, for sure. I love it. One of my other faves is 'Cinderella'. He did a colab with Anderson paak too.

First time I ever even heard about Mac Miller, he was a teenager with his own show on MTV doing all kinds of crazy shit. It was a great show because I would do that same crazy shit if I had the money to do so 😆 I’m like 20 years older then him but I’d still watch his show. At the time I looked up his music just to see if I would be interested and I didn’t like it back then. After he died I stumbled across the video Jet Fuel and really liked it because it was his own style, like kind of hip hop but almost a different genre all together. Like nobody sounded like this but him and had a very artistic vibe to it. It’s interesting when great artists are at their darkest moments, they produce their greatest music and shortly after, pass away…

You're right that his style completely changed. I honestly did not like "KIDS" mixtape, but it has some good songs on it. Watching Movies with the Sound Off is when he really started taking off and completely changed his style. " I wish I , could get high, as space migration" - Lyric in FACES (his space migration tour he came back from and had to go detox at Rick Rubins house) which he also talks about in FACES. Since that tour he's been chasing the high and spiraliing out of control from drug use. He wasn't suppose to survive the making of FACES ( his own words) . By far the most creative project he's ever made and at 22 but it took more of mental toll on him than anything. The concept of SWIMMING and CIRCLES started on this album and FACES. The concept of swimming keeping his head above water and always ending up at the same spot struggling with drugs no matter how many times he got clean. CIRCLES
