@@ron-aa2264so kendrick should’ve just ignored the subliminal disses, and the obvious disses from drake and jcole? It’s more than first person shooter, they’ve been dissing him frequently over the years but only really lit the flame with fps. I’m just happy someone is finally going after drake because he’s truly a bum who needs an entire team of ghostwriters for any success. I mean honestly drake makes catchy stuff but it’s all surface level shit and rap cap. He grew up in the suburbs and had a stable childhood. I can respect jcole for sending a warning shot back, but I wish he went his hardest. We have to keep in mind that kendrick didn’t drop a track, and if he did it would probably break the internet. The best HipHop disses come from rappers who are angry and want to expose the other person (ie Hit Em Up, Jadakiss’s disses against Sigel and 50, The Bitch in Yoo), but J Cole isn’t angry at Kendrick and Kendrick isn’t a controversial figure, so the concept is kind of dead on arrival. 4:57 I remember hearing this from Nas. The song is “You’re da man” he also mentions arms too short to box with god. Edit - To be clear, I know Nas did not create that expression. This is just who I remember hearing it from.

Ive heard it in alot of songs I remember there's a Black star song that has that line, on thieves in the night he says "Your firearms are too short to box with God" It originally is from a poem called Prodigal Son by Jame Weldon Johnson

It's a phrase that goes back to the 1920's and was used by other m.c.'s before nas

Who remember the Wale and Cole backandforth? I hope he don't talk crazy and backtrack again. (Noname as well) It's kinda like Cole is always on the fence when dissing.

The delivery of the diss wasn't necessarily bad it's just that none of what he said was really accurate. TPAB is not boring, Kdot did not fall off, and he IS relevant regardless of the diss.

@@mistahmst woah. Are we just spouting shit for shock value or what. Real shit tho, I would like to know if you genuinely Believe that or if you're just trying to back Cole. I love Cole, and I don't listen to kdot very often, but i can accept that he's a brilliant artist and can see his greatness.

@@lfcyeezus it’s only considered shock value to people who think everything Kendrick touches is gold. I actually prefer GKMC and Section.80 to any of Cole’s albums, but I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that I like what Kendrick has been putting out lately. Especially the stuff he made with his wack ass cousin.

Although, yes, probably Cole is not "into" this exchange, he HAS been calling out somebody to come at him for a long time and asking to challenge him. Not even to mention his talk about being the "goat". So now going- "I love my brother, I'm not really into it" is kinda lame.
