Hes right, fans need to understand a few things: 1. He knows what hes doing. This is the music industry, it works different than we all think. Its hard to sell a mill with just rap, you NEED a radiofriendly song than when they get the album = the real world (Lolipop..50 cent songs..etc) 2. You want a true rap song = Who dat as he mentioned, it didnt do well 3. Listen to lost ones. The album wont fail, you gotta bring mainstream folks in to the real world (The album) Play the game to change it.

I respect the fact that cole said hes not gonna do a album full of pop records too. I have faith in cole, i dont think he intends to let his fans down. You know what. I really appreciate how real he was in response to how his fans are, and reactions to his "Work Out" song, and how he knows how he has to go about making it big. It's honestly not too often you hear a rapper willing to say "yeah I did go ahead and make a radio-friendly song so I can make it". Too many of them are afraid of being called a sell-out. Cole's first mixtape he's been my favourite and has the potential to be the greatest of all time. he does have a point, he has a large variety of fans and has an obligation to appeal to all those fans, when he releases a track that is pop/club friendly fans are quick to 'catch feelings'. However, they should just avoid the track and look forward to the next one or go back and listen to the 'warm up' or 'FNL'. That being said, there is a fine line between being diverse and selling out. IF he created a POP like ALBUM he be drifting away from his roots, which popularized him as an artist.
