Been a Cole fan for about 2 n a half years now and.. If this man makes it to the heights I think he could.. he will most def be this generation of hiphop's savior.. his content and substance is something just about all modern rappers are missing at this time.. yet his sound has completely kept up with modern times along side of delivering something completely fresh. YES

Hes right, fans need to understand a few things: 1. He knows what hes doing. This is the music industry, it works different than we all think. Its hard to sell a mill with just rap, you NEED a radiofriendly song than when they get the album = the real world (Lolipop..50 cent songs..etc) 2. You want a true rap song = Who dat as he mentioned, it didnt do well 3. Listen to lost ones. The album wont fail, you gotta bring mainstream folks in to the real world (The album) Play the game to change it.

The man said it himself. " I will not have an album full of pop records." " I will quit before I do that." Work out is a single to get new fans. The album is going to be the J. Cole we all love. I trust J. Cole, he won't let us down with the album. He said in another interview that it will be better than than Friday Night Lights, I have a really good feeling that it will be better than Friday Night Lights. If his album is as good as his mixtapes, I will be happy with it.

J. Cole is on point with everything hes said from fan pressure to playing the game to change the game and the comparison of his single and kanye's slow jamz (although i enjoy slow jamz more). I respect the fact that cole said hes not gonna do a album full of pop records too. I have faith in cole, i dont think he intends to let his fans down. I believe he'll deliver a sold quality album if not an instant classic.

You know what. I really appreciate how real he was in response to how his fans are, and reactions to his "Work Out" song, and how he knows how he has to go about making it big. It's honestly not too often you hear a rapper willing to say "yeah I did go ahead and make a radio-friendly song so I can make it". Too many of them are afraid of being called a sell-out. I respect that most def, and I've been ridin wit Cole for a good minute. Cole World!

Real rappers and lyricists like Eminem don't create art thinking about what will be more popular. Artists like Em just fucking DO it. They do what the feel. Not what the world feels, Cole.

Agreed with jjordanmostdope. I've also listened to Eminem since I was 6! I'm now 17 and really thought no one would match up... but since I've heard J. Cole's first mixtape he's been my favourite and has the potential to be the greatest of all time. Like Em' he's versatile, he can mix it up, he can be lyrical, he can freestyle, he can make mainstream music - kids got it.

looking forward to this guys debut album man I don't mind him trying to get his name out and make a radio single. gotta respect the dudes drive to get his name out there and just blow the hell up. let's just hope he doesn't pull a wiz khalifa cause wiz used to be hella tight before he went mainstream, he still has some songs you can bump but it's not the same. I'm sure Cole knows what he's doing and his album should be an instant classic.

he does have a point, he has a large variety of fans and has an obligation to appeal to all those fans, when he releases a track that is pop/club friendly fans are quick to 'catch feelings'. However, they should just avoid the track and look forward to the next one or go back and listen to the 'warm up' or 'FNL'. That being said, there is a fine line between being diverse and selling out. IF he created a POP like ALBUM he be drifting away from his roots, which popularized him as an artist.
