After seven years of Five Nights at Freddy's, Scott Cawthon, it's creator, is retiring. At the time that this video is posted, the following link should contain the explanation as to why, along with a few comments from the man himself.

Some key points to take away. FNaF games will continue to be created. He says he will entrust the franchise to someone of his choosing. Who this might be, we don't know. But whoever it might be and no matter how good the franchise may become, it can never live up to what Scott made it to be. Some may say "it's just a game", but it's so much more than that. It's a community, and without this community, this channel along with many others would have never existed.
Although we have so many more questions, we wish you all the best and hope you find happiness in whatever it is you decide to pursue. Can't believe it's been seven years since the first game. I can still recall the exact day FNaF 4 came out. How times have changed. Nevertheless, enjoy this little tribute as a proper sendoff. You deserve it Mr. Cawthon. See you on the flipside.

I'm not saying that it's the sole reason he's retiring because after this many games it was bound to happen eventually, but I feel like all the knee-jerk reactions from everyone on Twitter trying to cancel him definitely made it happen sooner than it was going to. I think the saddest thing is that so many people just see that some (some, not all) of the politicians he supported were anti-lgbt+ and so they decided that he was instantly the worst person in the world. But here's the thing, people can support politicians because of other reasons than their stance on the queer community. If more people learned that, we'd be a lot better off because at this point it just causes senseless bickering and the destruction of people's reputations that don't deserve it. hi....scott.....I just came here to thank you for everything you did for FNaF 1, 2, 3, 4, SL, 6, UCN and anyway......you changed the internet for the good .......theories were created......perfect games were published.......and several of them were accepted and loved......you cured depressions....... ..and when I heard that you retired I remembered ALL THE FNaF's and decided to myself that I would lose my fear of playing them instead of just watching KZbinrs playing them........I'm currently in FNaF 4 on night 3 honestly I'm proud of how I'm managing to stop my fear of playing FNaF and managing to overcome them..............all the best to you scott...... ........thank you for everything. -just a Brazilian FNaF fan

When I heard that Scott was retiring honestly I was completely shocked and in complete disbelief this man didn't only make my childhood Absolutely amazing this man was how I happened to meet some of my best friends in the world he created these Absolutely Incredible characters with an even better storyline Scott is a legend and one that won't be forgotten even once the community takes its final bow.
