Jäger - Tiny Killer

Jäger is a terrific destroyer. And very fun to play. Whether by stealth, torpedoes, spotting, or some combination of all of three, it can help your team to victory. Just don't forget, staying unseen is critical. Getting caught by a DD gunboat can mean a quick trip back to port. Many are faster than Jäger, so positioning is very important in order to avoid being chased down by something like a Marceau. I have one or two more compilation videos to get together. Yeah that Damn Jager. I've fought quite a few of these. Scary, deadly, hard to hit for being so shallow/low set in the water, A million torps to dodge so you can't just charge it, not to mention stealthy. when spotted they're target #1. The torps are basically pillow Skane torps, Skane and Oland torps are about 76 knots as I recall, I consider them to be plenty fast. Are Jager torps faster? Great showing here, I really enjoyed this. Jäger torps at maximum speed, are 95 knots.

As RightOnTarget1 points out in his comment, the torpedoes can be boosted from "ludicrous" to "plaid" speed. (Glad to be able to drop a Spaceballs reference!) Thanks for watching and commenting, brother!

I did the math. Hit probability goes up with the square of velocity. So, if the based torps are 86kn, all else equal, 90 knots gives you a 10% greater chance of hitting. Going from 90->95 gives an additional 11%, for 22% total. In this boat, that is a very good investment.

@@robertshaver4432 the reload is 65s. Vs 75.6s for Halland with Jager having 12 vs Halland’s 10. Jager only has 12 km range v Halland’s 15. One thing people don’t think about though is the flexibility 4 launchers give you vs. 2. I’ve spent a lot of math time understanding both Halland and Jager. For example, often BBs will turn and run straight away from you. Against most DDs, that’s a good move. Against Halland, if the BB is going 30 knots straight away, you can launch when he is 10km away and still overtake him. Jager can do 8.3 km. You would be surprised how often I make that shot. Also, most people don’t realize that a bow/stern hit always gives a flood. Sometimes I stagger the launches by a few seconds. Most BBs when they get a flood, immediately DC. If my next set comes in after the immunity period, I get a sticky flood. This is also something I do to bow-in radar cruisers. I try to get one bow hit over and over.

Yeah. It's different when a CV camps over you, for sure. I have a replay here somewhere when, as the CV player, that is exactly what I did to RightOnTarget in his Jäger, to great effect! lol.
