73 was when I really gained consciousness, I was only 3, but you could feel the happy coming just like this song demonstrates. A few years later Vietnam was mostly over, and for most, it was a great time.

I'm surprised that no major rapper has yet sampled this. If you were a soul fan in SC or a kid there in the late 60s and early 70s, you heard some of J. Hines stuff. A vastly underrated regional legend.
