Here's my reaction/review to the new #CNS song! Representation in this video was super nice and I believe that all of this was executed perfectly. The dancers and everyone seemed to be vibing out and the energy overall seemed extremely positive. I talked briefly at the end, i don't know if anything made sense but yeah lol, if it didn't, i'm blaming it on my tiredness. Anyways, if you enjoyed the video leave a like, if you're new and ya did you might as well subscribe and become a nash potato. Love you guys!

I should have known you'd be one of the only KZbinr's to handle the situation reasonably and with compassion and education rather than getting defensive. I also am not upset in the same way some other people are about the hairstyle (I do agree it could have been left out and the video and homage would have been just as lit) but way more upset about the way I see some people getting treated and bashed on the internet just for expressing the fact that they felt hurt by it. Of course there are also haters who were gleeful to have an excuse to try to drag BTS but there are also people who are already often marginalized and ignored when they air their grievances about race who wanted to have a real discussion about it but we're getting shut down by fans. Again you're awesome as usual thanks for staying up to give us a great reaction!

As a black person, I personally saw no issues with Hobi’s hair. I think we have a habit of taking appropriation claims a bit too far. As an ethnicity, we do not own the rights to any hairstyle. Period. Dreads, twists, and braids go back to the beginning of all civilizations and every single culture has documented proof off these hairstyles being a part of their history. Given that the video was a homage to hip hop culture from the time of the original song....those styles were extremely common all over the world. It’s not fair to say that someone is trying to associate with being black just because of a hair style, especially when I know for a fact that hair doesn’t define a person. BTS rap line has been in the hip hop game since they were kids so the culture is legit something they grew up with. They aren’t in it for the fame....hip hop is what made them who they are. You don’t have to be black for that. The video was done in a hella respectful manner and I tip my hat to HobiG for the love that they showed to their roots.

I really don't get why people are mad it just makes me so angry that people take it in a negative way I think people are way too sensitive because it's not like we don't copy other cultures we are not born with straight hair or came up with those hairstyles but people put wigs, extensions and relaxers and do hairstyle exactly like theirs than white people should be mad too. A person should do whatever they want with their hair if someone likes a style they should be able to do it and if someone does what is done in my culture I see it as someone loving and appreciating it. And now jhope should worry about this now really, I mean come on.

I get why people would be upset about his hair but I think it's all about intent and if they are being ignorant. These boys work hard to not offend people. J Hope and Suga stayed up all night to rewrite the lyrics to their set list for America to not include the Korean word niga/naega because they knew how it would sound to Americans and that's not who they are. If you think these boys don't respect other cultures and other people then just like those people who DO appropriate other cultures, you're uneducated.

It's so sad that thry had to do that change. Like nigga in many different languages don't mean black person. Only in English. So in a way Americans in the music and radio industry are ignorant. Censoring that word can confuse those who can understand Korean. So honestly it's just sad

Finally someone said it! It's like some people sit in their rooms with a coffee, watching the mv repeatedly just to find something that can be considered as "offensive". Funny how those who complain don't even give a damn about the culture.
@loisienyami50955 жыл бұрын
@@anti_fascist yeah like for example nigga is in english. But a word in another language such as Afrikaans, kuifer is the same derogatory word. Just in a different language. Nigga will never mean the same thing in many different languages and I think more people should be aware of that just so there isn't any mix ups when listening to something that they might not know and that they shouldn't react and say "they're being racist!".

I would get it a bit if it were cornrows or smth but twists are a completely different thing. I'm part Skandinavian and Viking used to wear their hair in twists too and no one knows who did it first anyway. Maybe it was the Egyptians. Wtf cares. It's not like People's Hair makes a big difference here. Where I live are a Ton of white or Asian people with dreads, twists and cornrows and a lot of black people with blonde, straight hair. No one gives a shit.

Bottom line: giving credit where credit is due for the entire cast of dancers when so many other artists would have kept them as anonymous props-say whatever you want about Hobi’s twists, he, Becky, and Big Hit are not just paying homage to their exposure to the culture, but to individual people in the community. When is the last time you saw that in an MV? That’s appreciation down to the person. In a musical tradition that is problematic as hell about taking others down, Hope and Becky took the positive spirit of Chicken Noodle Soup and pushed it forward to uplift all the folks involved. As for the twists? Maybe more a stylistic “don’t” than a reason to attack someone who’s legitimately in the game and has a history of repping his own culture and paying respect to those he’s inspired by.

Hope World and Becky G really out here payin’ homage in the best way possible!! 🔥💯 For me the whole hair “issue” is kinda over exaggerated for this one. He got on twists which EVERYONE rocked with in the 90’s and 2000’s. These ain’t full on braids, cornrows, boxbraids, etc. For the haters, anti’s, and ignorant, they’ll try to start backlash, but he is just paying homage to the original song as well as his childhood. You really thing BigHit would allow a cultural mistake NOW?? Maybe back then bc they were ignorant, but they know what they’re doing. This just put me back to my elementary days when CNS came out, and people are trying to trash it, no respect. Anthony you keep it up man 🤟🏼💜💯 Anthony 파이팅

I really liked this reaction video and how you addressed the twitter hair issue at the end. A few people I follow were really mad and I saw a divide on my feed saying gel twists is fine and then seeing from others that its really not. I personally do see it as a homage to the era of the song, but I do also respectfully acknowledge why people are also upset by it. If people have a problem with it then they have a right to voice their concerns. But let's also remember that he wouldn't do this to be "problematic" like some people have voiced on twitter. And he loves and adores hiphop and hiphop culture. It's part of who he is. Stay hydrated guys~
