Jcole is actually jhope's idol, and he mentioned him before in bts songs. He called him his muse. And i love that u pointed out that jhope was dancing to cole's verse cuz jhope was a street dancer before he became a rapper and he said this song is him going back to his roots so seeing him dancing to cole's verse is heartwarming. Idk if y'all noticed too , but hobi( jhope's nickname), gave the biggest part of the song to jcole, and it just shows how much love amd respect he has for him. Not to mention the mv is an homage to jcole's simba mv ( it was filmed in the same street). Ps: i would love if y'all checked out more of jhope's music.. As fans of such diverse artists, it is easy for others to pass judgement and stereotype harshly based on genre and because of that, army, usually expect some type of criticism and backlash but shockingly most of the hip hop heads are open minded, so thank you. I really like how you guys do most of your videos and rap dissections. (Also an avid fan of j.cole) I think there's as much misconceptions about kpop (especially bts) as there is about hip hop. BTS have been honing their craft and changing the world. They have been known to support & pay homage to the great artists that have come before them by studying the game and having appreciation towards hip hop culture. So thank you for checking them out!

An overlooked part of hip hop is how wide the genre is. The spectrum of hip hop blends and blurs between all genres while being it’s own art form. So fans of hip hop as an art form have an appreciation for pretty much all genres since rappers either dabble in them, or sample them into their beats

To them, they are just boys from country side of Korea. So they are always grateful to their fans who they believe made them who they are today. J. Cole wants to be someone that God is proud of (Born Sinner), J. Hope wants to become someone his fans are proud of. ARMY idolizes J. Hope, J. Hope idolizes J. Cole, J. Cole idolizes God. This is the last song Jhope is putting out before he goes to serve his military service. In South Korea it's mandatory for ALL males to serve 1.5-2 years in the military. Jcole and street dancing has been some of the roots for Jhope and his career as a member of BTS(most popular kpop male group) and a solo artist/producer. He grew up with hip-hop. It's been many years since he first started so before he takes a long break he decided to go back to his roots. Also to show how much he respects Jcole he gave him the longest verse on the song.

Fun Facts for those who don't know. J.Cole is j-Hopes biggest influence/inspiration and muse. JHopes album "HOPE WORLD" is a play on J.Coles first album "Cole World". The BTS song "Born Singer" is also a play on J.Coles song "Born Sinner". The Avirex fit JHope is wearing is also homage to J.Cole. The street JHope was on at the beginning is the SAME EXACT street J.Cole filmed his "SIMBA" music video on. And JHope dancing during Coles verse is because JHope before BTS used to dance to J.Cole songs back in the day.. The visual easter eggs and homage paid to J.Cole in this by JHope is insane. Shows his genuine love for a GOAT like J.Cole. This whole collab is legendary and will be cemented in history forever.. This a big W for Kpop and HipHop

J Hope is joining the Korean Military Soon, it's Mandatory for Koreans, so this was his goodbye Git for Fans. He used to dance to J Cole's Songs when he was still a Street Dancer, and after a listen to Friday Night Lights, he started writing songs and making his own Beats. He even named his first Mix Tape Hope-World after Cole-World. That's also the reason he gave Jermaine so many bars in his Song, he did out of respect. Recommend Checking out his Album Jack in the Box, it's a Hip Hop Album with lots of 90s Style Beats and crazy lyrics. Songs that i recommend, Arson, More, Stop, What if (he sampled ODB on that one), Airplane and Daydream

This is J-Hope this is what he's about, he don't front for no one. You see it how it is. J-Hope aka Hobi is BTS dancer and rapper. Whenever they do solo projects/albums it's so their fanbase can see what they're personally like. So we can know their perception of things and their thoughts and feelings. J-Hope is BTS's sunshine, the happy go lucky guy in the group but on his solo work omg this man is deep. J.Cole has been real inspo for him, you can look at his Hope World album and see it for yourself. BTS also released a version "Born Singer" in 2013 remade from "Born Sinner" from J.Cole with his permission recently. J.Cole is one of Hobi's biggest motive and muse. The song was produced by J-Hope and P.Dogg, he got J.Cole's lyrics 4days before he releasing the song. So like any Korean male they have to do 2yrs mandatory military service and Hobi has enlisted. This song is his goodbye track for the moment and his reason for J.Cole getting all those lines is so J-Hope could enjoy his last moments before going m.i.a. J.Cole was speaking for Hobi in the goodbye lines and just saying it's goodbye for the moment but he'll be back, and when he's back it'll definitely go down. Hobi is a sunshine we all definitely need at some point.

Not only does he give homage to one of his biggest idols in the song (and past BTS ones back in 2013 even) but he also incorporates his roots by dancing to legendary bars in his street style. If you ever seek out new artists to listen to even on your own, I think there's quite a few songs of the BTS rappers (RM, SUGA/Agust D, and j-hope), especially in their individual projects over the years, that you'd both enjoy. All 3 have different styles and sounds, you're bound to find something that sticks or resonates in lyrics, beat, or rap.

J-hope is literally from BTS lmao J hope let J cole own this song and I respect that. This is such a great collab, Hobi did great but I think Cole ATE that. His verse is fcking amazing This feels more like a J cole song with a little bit of J-hope essence and It's great. Both killed it! LOVE THIS SONG 🔥 J hope was really inspired by many artists but it's true that J.Cole is his muse. In their song called Hip Pop Phile/Lover he says, "Hope hope world before I built my own world, there was Cole world | When he lit up Friday night, | I became more inspired to write my own music". BTS also sample J. Cole's Born sinner and the song calls Born Singer, they made that song in 2014 I think but it was last year that BTS added that song to his latest album 'Proof' because it's a really special song for them and well, I guess they got permission from Cole. As for this song. This is J-hope saying goodbye for now to ARMY (fandom name), BTS (his group) and his family while he gets ready and leaves to service his time in mandatory military service. So this is his last gift to us before he leaves, so it is special for ARMY and of course It's SO special for Jhope. We ARMYs feel so proud of Hobi because he really got to collab with one of his greatest role models. It would be great if you react to other J-hope's and BTS' songs. They are great 🔥 If you like Hip-Hop then you will like a lot of their songs for sure but I have to mention their discography is so diverse so you fill find a lot of genres as well. There's 3 rappers and 4 vocalists and they are known for being pretty involved in making their own music and sharing the messages they want not just perform a song that a company gives them.

Ahhh love this, thanks for genuinely giving this time, listening and the enthusiasm !! jhope is a member of bts, one of the three rappers in the band and the main dancer/choreographer! All three rappers, jhope, rm, and agust d have solo albums which are each super individual to them and brilliant, though of course being in korean makes appreciating the lyrics and word play a little harder to access. There are however great translators out there to provide context to the nuances of the language! like dkdtv. So jhope is a masssssive j cole fan & this song is his goodbye song as he enlists in his mandatory military service for 2 years, he's said he doesn't have 'expectations' for it it's just written and made for 1 himself and 2 his fans - which explains why he gave j cole the lions share !! But j hope has a really fun and distinctive rapping style that you may be curious to check out properly in his other songs :) he's also a SICK freestyle dancer, see his v lives !

As other fans mentioned, JHope wrote this song as a farewell gift to ARMY (BTS's massive and dedicated global fanbase) in October 2022, right after he released his solo album, Jack In The Box, and performed live @ Lollapalooza in Chicago - an historical event because JHope's the 1st S. Korean artist to ever headline @ Lolla, where he and JCole met in person. JHope said that while he was writing it, he thought of a JCole collab. JHope's own rap style is melodic and layered (just like his dancing); he developed his own rap style while rooming with RM and SUGA of BTS (both grew up underground rappers) way back in the day, well before BTS debuted as a group with vocalists 10+ years ago. But like all able-bodied men, when they come of age in SK, JHope and the rest of BTS members have to enlist in mandatory military service (technically, SK and NK have been in a cold war for decades), so each have been lining up for their goodbyes, dropping their solo projects and collabs before they have to leave for 2 years and regroup in 2025. A lot of people don't know that BTS is rooted in hip hop (prob because many assume BTS is a stereotypical boy band, but they play with different genres). BTS did not get to where they were easy either, they grinded their way from broke bottom to the top of the top (now the biggest group in the world, breaking all kinds of records, selling out stadiums worldwide, hundreds of awards, biggest fan following on the globe, all that). But they started out simple tho, were always hated on (didn't matter how polite, humble and hard working they've always been), they marched for every bit of success they've got today and are still writing/producing/contributing to their own songs. Anyway, Back in 2015, BTS sampled JCole for their single, "Born Singer", performed it live and have revised the lyrics over the years (2017 and 2022), as they grew in popularity (I recommend watching their live performance/s of "Born Singer"). JHope being a street dancer, grew up dancing to JCole's music. Now, he's 1 of 3 rappers and one of the main songwriters/producers (next to RM and SUGA) of BTS, but is notably the group's dance leader. JHope would share videos of himself (and sometimes, other BTS members) freestyle dancing for fans (aka, ARMY), and called it "Hope on the Street". He also released a mixed tape called "Hope World", always embodying "hope" - which he's also well known to be about. Anyway, this single from JHope is like a continuation of "Hope on the Street", only now, JHope's in a place in his career (BTS are considered global legends in their own right) where he can have a music video featuring JCole, and JHope gets to dance to JCole within it. It's seriously a dream come true for JHope, who describes JCole as a kind "hyung" (elder brother in Korean). I'm loving on this collab, and your genuine reactions to it!

Great reaction 😂. Laughed out loud when you said you were happy when the music started 😂😂😂 Just to answer one of your questions, the hook of the song is for the BTS fandom Army. J Hope will be fore filling up coming his military duties soon and is leaving the BTS fandom a little gift until he returns. Please feel free to check out more J Hope music. Jack in the Box

Jhope is distinguished by being far from K-pop and a lover of old school hip-hop, as he is descended from the street dance culture and the ancient original art of hip-hop. J-hope is one of the few distinguished people in Korea, and this is what made me obsessed with his songs, their strong rhythms, their lyrics, and so his last album jack in the box is such a masterpiece And this song OMG THEY BOTH ARE AMAZING 🤯❤️🔥 The fact that Jhope gave a lot of lines to Cole shows the extent of his respect and love for him because he is actually his inspiration. Jhope has an mixtape ( Hope world) based on cole world .

He's rapping back and forth from Korean to English. He is rhyming but your only seeing the translation. Never thought I would see a reaction to BTS on y'alls channel. And then y'all did it completely blind... no understanding lol

Amé tu reacción, es mi primera vez por aquí y fue gracias a j-hope. Por favor reacciona a su música, ARSON, More, Hope World, etc. La música de j-hope como solista es increíble y él admira y tiene un gran respeto por J.Cole ya que es su influencia musical. Nueva suscriptora.

J Hope is an amazing performer: dancer, rapper and a member of BTS. This is his farewel. He is going to the mandatory service so this song is for their fans, with his long admired artist Cole. They rap in Korean, English and Japanese. They are fantastic musicians.

As plenty of the other comments have said, Jhope is one of the 3 rappers of bts. Ya’ll would love them no joke. Jhope was a street dancer and only started music after he joined their company. The other two tho, RM and Suga, were actually underground rappers before joining bts. All three have solo mixtapes/albums (although Suga goes by Agust d for his solos). They have songs with only the three of them (which we call rap line songs) and then songs with the entire group of bts (there’s seven of them) Really recommend checking them out!

Thank you for taking the time to react to this collab. BTS, who JHope is a member of seven, he is one of three rappers. I know ARMY, BTS fanbase, have suggested some of his solos or or BTS and I would love to see your reactions to more their songs. Will subscribe if I do.

Hoola-hoopin in jail, y’all are hilarious, just some insight into JHope, not only an amazing dancer and rapper and songwriter, very much beloved in the BTS Army. He is also the richest member of BTS because of writing credits and smart financial management and oh yeah, just became brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. And J. Cole was his idol and inspiration. Imagine actually being in a song with someone you admired for so long. Love to J. Cole and Hobi 💜

since you like Jcole, check out BTS’s cover of Born Sinner best video has got to be a stage mix video (a edit of two performances together). They originally did the cover in 2013, but in 2015 they performed it and then they performed it again in 2017… in both performances they changed the lyrics to follow more of who they were in the moment. [just turn on CC/subtitles]

You guys need to check out J-Hopes song “Arson” there’s a mv to it, I wanna see you guys dissect that song, it’s a rap song cause he’s a rapper btw. He’s a member of BTS which they are the biggest artist in the world. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. The 3 rappers you can check out are J-Hope, RM and Suga aka Agust D. Thanks for the reaction 💜

This is J-Hope's 'goodbye for now' song to us fans, because he is joining the military and will be gone for almost 2 years.... He's saying everything he does is for us ❤️ J. Cole is his inspiration and idol and I'm so happy that J-Hope got to got to do a song with him.... The child in the beginning that J-Hope said goodbye to represents us ARMYs (BTS fans are called ARMY).... JHope got his start as a street dancer, it's no wonder he walks like a dancer (like MJ!) down the street; he dances in the subway to JCole's verses, returning to his roots at the same time JCole is rapping/reflecting about his own life and career...If you want to hear more by JHope, then I recommend the song "More" off his 2022 album 'Jack in the Box' and also the song "Arson" (they have much more Korean-language rapping in them so make sure you have subtitles turned on)

Enjoyed y'all's reaction. You were confused when BTS was on the screen. J-Hope is 1 of 3 rappers from BTS. Please react to these: 1. Hip Hop Lover live performance 2. BTS Room Live 3. Mic Drop music video

the collaboration is meaningful on many levels, and not only for the two j's. perhaps the best is seeing that these two immensely talented artists, with different skin colors, from different different backgrounds and different cultures, can come together and create beautiful music. if anything, this collaboration is also a profound statement against racism: on the street, every one is the same -- for as individuals, we all "run, move, look, love, and hope" towards our dreams for our selves, our families, our friends, for all of us.

Jhope is from bts. Bts got 7 members and jhope is one of the three rappers in the group. bts basically started out as a hiphop crew with rm, suga and jhope. This song is a gift to his fans before he leaves for mamdatory military service. Jcole is his idol. In a bts track called "Hiphop lover" jhope mentions jcole for the first time in 2014.

been watching you guys for the longest. Please check BTS out, I know ppl tend to think of them as a boyband with only pop music but they have real rappers, aside from j hope the other two rappers were underground. Which is uncommon in idol groups from Korea. They’re really great, thank you for reacting (:
