I have a love/hate relationship with J.J. McCullough, as in, I don't often agree with him, but he brings up good points and does it in a smart way, I would see myself having a conversation with him and he would actually listen to my arguments. Great concept and as usual, the quality is through the roof.

So many of his videos are things like the history of the Philippines or Falun Gong, I think in the end the controversial topics are actually fairly rare. But those are my favourite. I always enjoy an honest good argument for an unusual or challenging opinion. Several of them have been real eye openers over the years. It just makes me happy to hearing a new way of looking at things, like getting a new piece of the puzzle.

I like JJ but also don’t agree with him on a lot but he’s just so likable that I wouldn’t call it a love/hate relationship but a love/disagree relationship.

Same here. I enjoy many of his videos (e.g. vexillology, timelines of heads of state etc.) However, when it comes to French Canadians and Quebecers, his level of bad faith reaches Tucker Carlson-esque proportions. He has no qualms using blatantly false maps, or charts, or figures, or statistics, and if he does use accurate ones, he will contort and twist them up until they are unrecognizable. Same as far as historical facts are concerned. And I'm reasonably certain he's smart enough to know what he's doing, and chooses to do it anyways because those Quebec bashing videos are by far his most watched (and most click baity).

What I admire about Mr. McCullough is his conservatism isn't reactionary. A lot of public commentators on both ends of the political spectrum (but more so the right recently due to that side being the "rebellious" side of things as of late) define their stance, not grounded in any real thing, but as an anti-stance.

There is a reason I listen to J.J. Weekly and not Ben Shapiro. Keep up the great work providing sound, rational, reasoned commentary. It’s not a war of attrition. It’s a discussion!

I don’t agree with JJ’s stance on quite a few thing but I can’t help but respect his intelligence. He represents what Conservativism should look like in the west- thoughtful, unreactionary, a true opposition for left wing politics that doesn’t just resort to being hateful. I believe both a lot of people would be more turned onto politics and conservatism if this was the kind of discourse espoused, and I wouldn’t be annoyed as a lefty.

JJ, you're not a "Ben Shapiro Type", that guy is incredibly strident, annoying, and even self-righteous and degrading. You're far more calm and humble, and far more willing discuss rather than fight. I'm proud you took this path rather than the embodiment of an ideology.

Great content! I'm definitely on the far side of the left but I do enjoy J.J.'s content a lot, he makes good arguments, considers all sides, and I really appreciate his perspective of internal politics and dynamics within the politics environment that not a lot of commentators have, even if I disagree with him I can't say he isn't insightful.

JJ is an interesting figure when it comes to his world view. I as well, am very far left, but agree with you on JJs partisanship. I think he's an exceptionally dedicated person and that probably contributes to his ability to draw a crowd from both sides of the political spectrum.

I have long been fascinated with the various Canadian accents and it has long bothered me that Americans accuse us of saying oot and aboot -- because well, I had never heard it. Until this video... apparently we do have one Canadian that turns most of his ou sounds into oo. Will wonders never cease.

One of the rare KZbinr I blocked, insipid, rude, self-centered and completely detached from reality... Of course, it's my opinion on the social personality and character he has embraced and chosen, it's not aboot him! 😂 Étant de Montréal, ça joue dans la balance et mon absence d'objectivité!❤
