Ever since I was little, I loved writing and at age fourteen I sat down and began to jot down notes and as I proceeded on, the notes grew into ideas. Before I knew it I had created my very own series at age seventeen. Now it is October 2, 2011, and I have my first book signing on the 15th. I owe everything to JK Rowling! Thank you for my childhood!

I actually did cry in the exact chapter she mentioned when Harry was down the forest like a final walk before death.

3:45 chapter 34 made me cry harder than ive ever cried while reading a book. It was so sad with all the emotion and Harry being surrounded by people he loved. I'm kind of dreading seeing that part in the movie, but im sure it'll be amazing

the bit at the beginning where she said "Inferi" the way she pronounced it was a way I hadn't heard before so I immediately went "that doesn't sound right!"... it took me a few seconds for that rational voice in my head to go "Hello! she wrote the bloody thing!" XD

i thought the burning of the burrow was a key flaw in the film, dont you think? the hosue was surpose to be magically protected againt voldermort and the death ater and used as a safe ground in the last two books. and then they shoot a scene where deather eaters get in while half the order is there and burns it.

yeas, alot of the spells have their grounds in the latin language, and "avada kedavra" is meant to have connections with "abrakadabra". And "kadaver" is a self-dead animal.

The most frustrating for me was the end after Dumbledore's death.... It was so weird, Harry was standing there contemplating his future and his journey to find the Horcruxes and then Hermione starts talking about her relationship with Ron! What???!!!! Yates really didn't understand the book.

@yoroshiku Well since then she's written the short text book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", and Harry's book "Quidditch Through the Ages", and she's written "The Tales of Beadle the Bard." So, as far as novels go, I don't know, she probably is done. But she has written "nonfiction" about the wizarding world.

I agree with you that the burning of the Burrow was a complete testament to Yate's lack of knowledge of the HalfBlood Prince. The Burrow was the heart of the Order of the Phoenix and a safe haven. I am very curious (and very scared) to see how this all plays out in the Deathly Hallows movies. DAMN! He screwed up one of my favorite books in the series.

Snape has always been my favorite character in the series; I wonder how much of this was influenced by Alan Rickman's portrayal of him in the movies. I often wonder if I would have had such an affinity for Severus Snape if Alan Rickman hadn't mesmerized me with Snape's presence--his voice (oh...those pregnant pauses!), his stare, his flowing cloak as he turned to exit a room. I certainly cannot imagine anyone else embodying Snape with such...dismal grace. Snape was more good than bad. :)

Well she was NOT done with Harry Potter, cause it appeared that she wrote Tales of Beedle the Bard. This interview was so brilliant. You got lots of background information. J.K. Mybe more background information aout Hogwarts and Harry. that's what I hope...

hmm i guess your right but it does unfortunally clash with what the brillant jk has said about hermione. if she didnt get an O. can we assume that harry was the only student who did? because if hermione couldnt get an O then who eles can?
@xXxmissemmaxXx15 жыл бұрын
i think she did. because i no in one of the book harry and hermione have a debate on who is better at the subject. harry thought hermione was, and hermione thought harry was. so i htink thats why she give harry a higher grade. but by doing that she has underminded the fact she states hermione is the cleverest witch of her age ( in any era)

Yeah, I think it is safe to say that David Yates slaughtered The HalfBlood Prince. Oh, and what about the fact that the movie only mentioned the HalfBlood Prince like twice? Damn, it makes me mad just thinking about how great this movie could have been, but isn't. It could have been epic if he included the memories and helped the viewers see the childhood and history of Tom Riddle, and he should have explained the horcruxes in more detail and their relation to Hogwarts. Oh, well.

Yeah thats right, but I always thought that JK just put this in to make Harry look better at it. If Hermoine could outperform everyone else in every other subject realistically she would be at least as good as Harry at DADA. Well then, you obviously didn't understand what Jo was trying to do. She was trying to illustrate the utter pointlessness of war, and by killing off one of the most beloved characters in the series, she tried to make us all really HATE violence and the pain it causes. So yes, Fred's death DID have a purpose. You are just too short-sighted to see it. Honestly, do you really think that all the killing in real life "serves a purpose"?

Well, then you obviously don't understand what Jo was trying to do. The whole point of the war, and killing off so many, was showing how utterly pointless and devastating war is. By killing one of the most loved characters in the book, she tried to make us all really HATE violence, and all the pain it causes. Think about that, before leaving inconsiderate comments.

You missunderstand. By pointless, I meant the struggle for world-peace which is going in all over the world today. Of course they shouldn't have just lain down and died! And I repeat: Do you honsetly think all killing serves a purpose? Saying that we can dictate who lives and who dies just because of their family or background, that's just stupid. In reality, none of the deaths in HP are pointless; beacuse that's just how the world works! That's life.

Clearly you have never read the books. ****************************************** Rowling is SUPERB and I know that the movies will never be able to completely mirror the books, but come on!!!! In my opinion, the director got the whole concept of The HalfBlood Prince wrong. It was supposed to embody the essence of where exactly Tom Riddle came from and how closley he was connected to Harry and Hogwarts, (with the memories and the Gaunts). Good movie on it's on, but man! he missed the mark!
