How does one deal with the hidden as well as the conscious fears?
Is fear a moving away from 'what is'? Can a fearful, dependent mind know joy or love?
Will analysis free the mind from fear? Doesn't it imply time and an analyser? Is the analyser a fragment of the ego?
Are fear and pleasure interrelated?
Sustaining pleasure and maintaining fear, thought separates itself as the analyser.
Clarity of thought is needed but thought also breeds fear, so what is one to do?

As a man was seeking Truth, he saw mountain as mountain, waters as waters ( I-see-mountain, I -heard, I named, classified,I divided, I criticized-this is such a hard to climb mountain). After he saw fleeting Truth, he saw no mountain as mountain, no waters as waters (I am mountain or there's no mountain). But after rested in absolute Truth, he still sees mountain and waters but the Observer is Observed, no more "I" in this phenomenal, relative existence. The ego, or the lack of it, moves in relation in this beautiful, totality of human consciousness. Thanks K and friends.

At the Krishnamurti Foundation archives we researched Krishnamurti's vast body of work and we are now fairly certain this isn't an authentic quote of his. The origin of this quote is probably a book written by Mark Vonnegut (Kurt Vonnegut's son) about his mental illness (The Eden Express: A Memoir of Insanity). The book was published in 1975 and attributes this phrase to Krishnamurti (spelled "Krishna Murti") without giving any sources. Vonnegut might have paraphrased or misquoted it, and it must have spread from there. Aldous Huxely - a close friend of Krishnamurti's - also has a quote that is remarkably similar: "The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does. They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adjusted.”

Is it possible to bring K's comment 'fear is escape from what is' by saying fear is the sensation as brain activity to escape brain activity. Fear is the sensation to protect the physical organism in the physical environment. But brain infected by the evolution of language is trapped in to escaping moments been and moments possibly to be. The affect of this brain activity effects subjective sensation as the illusory I, Me, Self. Is it possible to see, sense this taking place inside one's own brain?

@@megachetyre There's definitely no pre-recorded voice : ) It could be that the tape this was recorded on was used once before, and what you hear is the trace left behind from the previous recording, or in any case something related to the analogue media used at the time.
