Santa Monica 1972 - Public Talk 1 - To act instantly is to see actually ‘what is’
Summary:
Action is always in the present, not tomorrow or in some distant future - action means now.
Your mind is my mind, your sorrow is my sorrow. There is no division in sorrow, there is no division in love.
Can you put away from your mind the idea that you have to learn to be aware?
Q: When have you experienced joy?
Q: What does it take to snap from adaptive conditional behaviour to spontaneity?
Q: If you throw a stone into the water, do the ripples stop?
Q: What’s wrong with identifying with the Godself?
Q: Is the speaker aware of the contradiction between his words, his message and his life, what he is doing, the medium of his message?
Q: How do I go about being aware of myself?
Note: a total of 3 minutes of missing video is replaced by audio only.

This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

With all respect, as far as i understand, this was not a speech at all. In fact, the speaker say it in the very begining to avoid this confusion. We are condition to be lecture by one autority, wich doesnt have any value at all, because each one of us needs to be a light to himself, in order to change the consciousness of mankind.

"Don't depend on anyone, no teacher can teach, no book, no spiritual organizations; one has to learn all this by oneself. And there the mind will discover incredible things No fragmentation. To such a mind there is no time, living becomes a different meaning. Listening to a pattern of thought, like, and dislike prevents this. Powerful observation.

if youre to say this man is the most amazing it means his teachings or observations have basically fallen unto deaf ears. The reason he is one of many amazing men is he has the ability to articulate conversation which is directed towards bringing about awareness of how what we experience as individuals and the peril which falls between us, is in fact something every human shares in common.

"the content makes up the consciousness". this is a really important point. only after one has emptied the contents of their consciousness can one get past the barrier of consciousness to pure awareness. we sense that awareness is just behind consciousness but it's obscured by the consciousness which only exists to hold it's own contents. this is real -- some may call it the void or emptiness, some may call it god, some may call it enlightenment or stillness or being outside of space/time but all fingers are pointing at the same moon. good luck everyone.

This man destroys his very consistent point of “ can we change “ by his pointed explanations of how we are all conditioned and what an insurmountable effort it would be to change. Every life that comes out if this world would have to change in their lifetime how hard is that if not impossible. Every life every teenager has to change good luck with that. We can better ourselves up to a point but there will always be a motive. The world is the way it is suppose to he can we change ? he always asks. we can hope.... but its all words. Tame your ego and live the best you can.,

@jeanettemoreno2573
@jeanettemoreno2573 2 жыл бұрын
The point isn't to "tame" your ego, it's to get rid of it completely. Taming is just another form of suppression and suppression is just another form of ignorance. To say that something is impossible, is just another way of giving yourself permission to continue being ignorant because it's easier than facing yourself. It's a lifelong commitment but not in the sense of ideals or morality because, again, that's just you putting an image to the action. His deep commitment comes from a place of love, he loves this life and everything/everyone in it, regardless of what he may think of them. He treats everything and everyone with such care in every act of daily life, in his words, in the way he lives life because he loves deeply. That's where his commitment comes from and that is exactly what love is. When you truly learn to love, you'll see that, that's all there is in life and that's when it really hits you. I'm not saying this to try to argue or anything, I just wanted to share what I've found for myself.

The self is an illusion. To acknowledge the throwness of being is to realise how little control we had this whole time. As the self diminishes into oblivion, the value of novelty and uncertainty by nature follows. These 2 values alone allow you to see things for the infinitesimally limited scope that we have and welcome new energy into our soul. This is why psychedelics can get you half the way and allow you to experience a strong albeit temporary ego death, a jump start if you wil, but without the perennial understanding and discipline accompanying these realisations one can end up deluded without a direction. Best of luck to all on this journey xo.

Of course someone from Santa Monica would ask 'what is the speaker feeling now.' As much as Krishnamurti head me to question my ability to be honest and live without delusions, the content here shows me how deluded, ignorant and mean people indeed are no matter what is at stake. I am almost ill from the indignation and indignity of the questions and behaviors coming from this audience.

What it means to be free from the me: If you suddenly discover something beautiful, something like a mountain, a flower, a bird, a butterfly - there are so many beautiful things in this world - there is, for a moment, that sensation of awe, when that thing completely absorbs you. In that moment you don't feel anything about yourself, that is, a total dissolution of the me. I wish you that this moment lasts forever. If you never experienced a sensation of awe, you may try a moment of pure love. If you had neither a sensation of awe nor a moment of pure love, you should continue to listen to J.K.

The human being is not in this world to become a slave of policy’s or possessions. But rather to search for a free way of life , A life by which a man becomes wealthy by needing less rather than by possessing more. Somewhere in the mystery of our experience we’ve lost the direct contact with life and the real purpose for which we were created. Mph

🎯Precisely. And, ironically, the OP doesn’t “get” K’s message either, not with that separatist (nationalist/tribal/groupie) thinking (which K often spoke about as being a serious hindrance to realizing who one truly is and definitely keeps one from being able to love anyone, including themselves).

Great Krishnaji. But it is a pity he didn't bring out a personal anecdote - it is a limitation on his part, that he did not ultimately open up personally, -about what brings or has brought him joy or 'Beauty' if he insists on that! He always uses the excuse that 'the speaker is not important'. Indeed no, but maybe we would lie to know a little of what we don't know about him!

What for? Why does it matter? What help does it do? What would that answer change? Why is it that important? I never understood the eager for the answer to those questions, and I think that He didn't understand them either, he even insist that it is not important.
