I think the validation she was seeking was due to the magnitude of the sting she felt from that first breakup and how public it all was due to their celebrity. JLo and Ben were head over heels for each other the first time around. Their chemistry was off the charts and they were glowing with happiness. Then, JG muscled her way into their equation and blew that connection to smithereens. JLo was stunned by this ambush. She never got over it. She repeated on many occasions over the years that she believed she and Ben shared real love, which they did. I think she always believed he continued to love her despite their separation. Ben confirmed it by working his way back to her, and she wanted the world to know it too. Unfortunately for her, once the connection is broken to such a devastating extent, there is no going back. I feel bad for her in this regard.

If nefarious activities are proven about JLO's alignment with Combs, it is perfectly understandable he craves return to the sanity he had in marriage with Jennifer Garner.
