J. Monty did probably the most mature thing I've EVER seen in CHH. Instead of making a diss track, he sought to unite and bring recognition to some cats.

I really appreciate what you mentioned in the last few minutes of this video, Wade-O. In regards to the division of various camps: I was introduced to ‘CHH’ in 2008 with Da Truth’s ‘Open Book’ project. Shortly after I was introduced to Rapzilla and your interviews too. Steve Patton was at Rapzilla doing interviews too. And, it’s hilarious to me because during that time of my intro to CHH in 2008, they were arguing then, too (“the cool kids verses the nerds”). It bothered me then, and even all these years later, the fact that they’re still arguing is exhausting. Like, just make music and live life like it’s golden, as Jill Scott said. Lmao 🥴😅.

crazy to think how old this is at this point, but theory hazit had a song called extra credit that highlighted a lot of artists all the way back in 2007. Definitely encouraged to see more collaboration across labels in this current era of Christian hip hop, even seeing Reach doing these summer playlists and highlighting plenty of artists outside of their label certainly has to be good for the community. Appreciate you highlighting this Wade-O!

B4 she said that I thought she was finna dumb down her music listening to her interviews lately about what she grew up on, but now after saying that she got to rap rap again and I'm looking 4ward to it especially over some Suave House type beats

Hey professing Christian's at large I enjoy CHH. And all though I don't know everyone mentioned by J Monty in his latest track. Lyricism is important but what's even more significant is being Ambassadors for the Lord Jesus Christ. There were some pivotal artists/group of Brothers not mentioned, who truly need no introduction. And Lecrae is, who in time past stated he wasn't a Christian rapper. My encouragement to all that have a platform is become intimately acquainted with the True and Living Triune God, sound preaching, and the Word of God. (Isaiah 66:2b) But on this one will I look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word. Make much of Christ, Biblically, and let your only boast as redeemed sinners be in this, that you understand and know God. Be sure you know Him and your life is bowed before His Holiness, His saving grace, His mercy and faithfulness to undeserving sinners like us. Behold our God seated on throne come let us adore Him!!❤

I think that’s definitely a response J. Monty gave us. It was dope, too. He even ADDED her name. He named SEVERAL heavy hitters that have been swinging at the devil and hitting for a long time. I listen to many of the people he named.

Before I commented I really wanted to give grace because Jackie probably wasn’t really thinking and maybe just put right on the spot, but on her last album, she literally had some heavy hitters on the song “Hymns”. But I don’t know I just wanted to be gracious. I truly don’t think she was trying to diss anybody.

I disagree with her too. 🤔💭 I guess cuz she used a lot of big words, 💭 I just hope the publicity don't destroy her walk with God. 🤔💭 Meaning the attention from the media in people something I read in the Bible and I believe this is truly what's going on with a lot of God's people. 🙏🏽N❤️

Good song, I listened about 3 times. Definitely wasn’t familiar with some of the people he named. I think it was kinda a diss track, not to CHH artists, but to secular artists. There’s a lil baby bar in there and he’s sorta condemning secular music, as he should in a sense as a CHH artist. If I can play devils advocate here, watching this after your video yesterday where you mention that big brother complex, and how CHH or some in the space have been clamoring for validation and respect I feel…especially from the industry as a whole. Theres the look over here we can rap mentality. If that is true, how do you think bars like, we don’t do this for a plaque or recognition, which J Monty alluded to…land, if the opposite is true? I’d argue that CHH is trying to be more mainstream and reach people with the gospel message. But…the big thing I see few talk about is I believe the industry as a whole is corrupt. (The whole entertain industry) so it’s almost like an uphill battle if the powers that be are against us. That’s a long way of saying just let your light shine and stay focused on what God has put in your heart, the accolades should be the furthest thing from a CHH rappers mind imo
@wadeoradio2 ай бұрын
I don’t think everyone is monolithic in thought. We also all have a flesh that we wrestle with. That said… There is definitely a desire by many to reach people outside of the church. The key is what is the right approach to do that. Many are implying saying I am going to do maintain my dignity and not compromise who i am as an artist or believer. We are all human. So we should be content with the acolades, the flesh and the pride isn’t. We want recognition and that is something we all must fight and die to. I don’t think that’s just a CHH issue. I think that’s a people issue
