I've been called a lot of things, but as I got older, I realized when I lay my head down at night, it was only me and GOD in the room. People are gonna say what they want, it's not my job to please any of them. That was my quote then, and it still stands today.

internalized racism, yes it is present in all cultures, I am Hispanic and I had to put up with my own family's comments where they put me down for being the darkest of my siblings, my own mother made fun of me, and it hurts to have your own mother say such things, the one person you would think would value you the most putting you down, it's traumatic...

thank you for clarifying that! LOL they want to be bronzed, not black. I keep trying to tell black people not to try to find self esteem in that.

I could not watch "dark skin", I am a dark skin women. The hell I remembered from my life as a child was overwhelming. I started to tear up. This needs to be on dvd, just so we who have issues can work through the hidden pain. Thank you, Mr. Duke

black men have real issues that needs to be addressed. How can some one hate what he is?! there should be as well a documentary about the damaged black men who agree with slave masters views

Can't wait to see this documentary. As a black woman, I'm never really surprised when I see or hear racism from the white race. However, to know that it exists within your OWN race is disheartening. My own mother was extremely fair skinned. My father is very dark skinned. I can remember as a little girl being warned by my mother to not stay in the sun too long...not because of fears about skin cancer, but, because she didn't want my skin to get darker than it already was.

This 🎥 & interview was exceptional!!! The manifestations of slavery has perminated throughout every level of American culture & society & left a "historical human stain" that can't simply be washed away.
