Restaurant Hiramatsu Kodaiji is situated in Kyoto’s Higashiyama Ward, close by the Kodaiji Zen temple, and one street in from Ninenzaka. Housed in a bijou four-storey building that blends harmoniously with its historical surroundings, it is decorated with paintings and objets d’art worthy of an art museum.
Through the imposing entrance is a spacious reception room with a high ceiling. The main dining room on the fourth floor is a warm, modern space that features earth walls and big windows with a view over the beautiful city of Kyoto, including the Yasaka-no-To pagoda.
The restaurant serves authentic French cuisine using traditional skills to make the most of each and every ingredient and create dishes like beautiful paintings into which the artist has poured heart and soul.
