Greetings folks! I sincerely hope you’ve had a great week and thanks again for tuning in for yet another instalment in the Long Island adventure… Today it’s a steak so big it almost assures I won’t go for a number two until I reach home shore…still, it’s got to be done! I hope you enjoy it and as always I’d be tickled pink to see you again this Thursday for the next episode in this little trip! ’Til then, stay insatiable! :)

@BeardMeatsFood , I love how simple your videos are. It's not about the the large amounts of people gathering to see you take on the challenge. I like that there aren't any crowds around you. Thats what makes your videos stand out from many others. It's just you , you walk in and ask about the food challenge. You do it, with the camera in front. Very simple yet effective. And thats what I like about your page. Simplicity and it's not about having a mass of people.

You're all correct. I'm 74 tomorrow and if anyone told me anytime in the last 5 decades that today I'd be sitting in my den watching a guy devour a 76oz (4.75lbs) and a baked potato ( probably 2lb) in 45 minutes and somehow myself feel satisfied I would have said you were a Nutter. It's really hard to explain. I just hope I grow out of it in 25 year's. Cheers

@Doze yea J & R’s is actually not that good of a restaurant lol. I’ve been there quite a few times (idk why) but every time I was hoping it would be better and it never was. Last time I went with my brother and he flipped out on the manager because the manager refused to accept that my brothers steak was straight fat and proceeded to mock him for complaining. We will never go back.

If I remember correctly, England was a little less affected by the great depression than the United States. There's a lot of food culture here that stemmed from hunger and lasted almost a hundred years. That might be why older people in the two countries view your challenges differently. My grandmother, very poor growing up, would always say "eat for the hunger to come" and put more on your plate. She didn't want leftovers. She would go out before the dandelions bloomed and pick the leaves of dandelion to make a dish. My father adopted those mentalities too. I'm a little more lenient when it comes to eating everything in front of me, but I am still very conscious of how much I cook so I never have much excess.
@BooTeaCheeks
@BooTeaCheeks 2 жыл бұрын
@@danvincent2600 Thank you for enlightening me. What I had stated was something I was taught, but had never studied. It sounds just as appalling as the Depression Era in the United States has been described and I will gladly look into the reading you suggested. The older members of my family also eat quite the same things as they did when they were young. My father still goes out and picks dandelions for himself as my grandmother taught him, though he does as a treat. Simple fried potatoes with sliced up hot dogs are a staple when I visit home.

"They way to tell if a steak is good is if it still tastes good after 64 oz." WTF? "Honey, how's your ice cream" " I'm not sure I've only had 6 gallons. It'll take 5 or 6 more to help me decide." Freakin savage!!

I love the way he’s always like “Have you got a dessert menu?” Really rubbing in the fact he smashed their challenge and can still eat! This particular server didn’t sound too pleased. Probably saw the size and accent and took a bet against him completing the challenge ! 🤣

I always found eating a big steak is much easier than the same amount of almost any other food for some reason. My personal record is a 1Kg steak (roughly half of the one in the video). Can't really see myself finishing that monster. Good job!

A group of us from work once attempted a 72oz steak eating challenge (a loooong time ago!) and I was the only one to succeed. It was damn hard to do - I sure as hell recognise the jaw-ache problem. I ended up cutting the meat into tinier and tinier pieces and eventually ended up using my hands to work my jaw! You made it look far too easy! :-D
