Astonishing- in interpretation and deliverance. Alan giving us a detailed explanation of his approach to trying understand and convey Bach’s intent is both revealing and incredibly inspirational.

Incredible ❤❤❤ If Nigel North once dreamt that Bach handed him a lute, then Bach surely has brought Alan Mearns a guitar 😀🥳 Best version and performance I've ever seen or heard 👍🏽🎶🎵🎶

Beautiful! Probably the greatest piece of music ever written for a solo instrument (albeit not the guitar) in a version so different from every other one us guitarists were used to, and very appealing indeed! A triumph of spirit over matter as a musicologist once called this chaconne, in a new version (Alan already had uploaded it some time ago), played on a Hermann Hauser I that belonged to the great Julian Bream! 👏👏👏

With so many ornamentations it ends up being a different work based on the Chaconne... technically incredible and with an amazing guitar.
@nasigil592816 сағат бұрын
Chaconne on guitar was a transcription from violin to begin with. Baroque music was supposed to be full of improvisation and ornamentation. In some way, one could argue this version may be closer to what Bach intended if he were to write Chaconne for guitar himself.

@javiersanchezdelabarquera487917 сағат бұрын

Saludos

*Con todo mi respeto,* pero creo que el experimento terminó en desastre. Las grandes obras maestras de la historia de la música no merecen ser manipuladas a placer de cada quien. Si no les agradan las obras como son, pueden elegir otras piezas del muy extenso repertorio para la guitarra, y no hacer esto que escuchamos.
@karmmaguitar5 сағат бұрын
