his approach to chords is unique.... he applies enough weight to grab 3 strings at once which creates a more percussive sound, but his violin does not scratch. in most interpretations, the chords are rolled slightly slower to avoid the scratch that often results from being too aggressive.

Excellent interpretation and wonderful intonation with a very good feeling. His instrument is also awesome. It’s sounds so clean and full and golden. It is such a fine thing to hear him because he can be compared with the golden age of great violinists like Menuhin, Milstein, Heifetz, Grumiaux, Szeryng, Francescatti, Oistrach, Stern and others.

Excellent! One of the best recordings of solo string Bach I have heard to date. I only wonder what the same performer would sound like playing a baroque violin. The modern instrument can sound a little harsh or forceful by comparison, but this is very nice. So musical and the intonation is a joy.

Bach is the foundation of all music styles that followed his time; stemming from his outcoming to the classical, romantic, modern, and contemporary jazz. Everybody that loves music should linger on Bach. Mind you, once you go under this wonderful composer you will never be out of his grip. His solo violin partitas will glue to your taste and will never leave you. The present post of Bach's violin partitas for solo violin, as interpreted by Kristóf Baráti, renders a most transparent Bach, untinted by unduly affectate performance. Thanks a lot for this post!

Today, violinists are two a penny, don't you ever believe it, if you learn to play one scale, that does not make you a virtuoso, I actually have a English heritage, in Nottingham 1967 I was naturalised, nationalised, and who knows whatised, one of my daughter, than five years old, wanted to learn ballet, but had not the personal pursuit which ballet deminded, so, she decided to learn to play the Violin, since she now hadsome Hungarian blood in her, I thought, that was the next best thing. However, by now sge cost me some money in tutorial, she and me agreed upon me bying the best tutorial, which I have purchased for her. Six month past, and I asked; A...., how your study goes, she said; I finished the book, I thought, all three years, she insisted with a yes, but she could not play a scale, not even in C major! Than I realised that the mastery of any instrument, take discipline, and this you have to dish it out to your self, and next to this; practice, practice, and more practice, till the day you die! Oh, I have falen into my own trap of self expectation, I, with the Piano, I was 18-years of age that time, believing that in two years I will be a concert pianist, alas, I learned that dedication is not enough, you need the blessing of talent from above, today, at 82-years of age, I am happy to listen to others performances, rather than that of my own! Oh, I am not complaining, I have made a first class engineer, even today, I can make wonders to come true on a Lathe! Metal work, of cause!

The Hungarian violinist Kristóf Baráti, whom I did not know, gives a convincing, emotional, attractive version of this classic work. His violin playing is warm, assured and musical. My aim is to be able to play all the partitas that Bach composed after mastering the basics. Then i will focus on the caprices composed by Paganini.

I borrowed a double (?) vinyl record (from a Swedish library) with either the father, or son (?) Oistrach playing the Bach solo partitas many years ago. I returned it, but have since then been trying to find this recording without any luck. This recording is so good, and I am glad I found it.

When I want to get out of the noises from inside or outside whatever, and to be immersed in deep silence, I just depend on Bach sonatas and partitas. I'm eliciting new energy from myself while listening to Bach. I appreciate his deep inspiration in his music. 💚

Presto: are you running a race against Hillary Hahn or Perlman? No one doubt of your virtuosity, but i think the right time is played by Henryk Szeryng. Menuhin, Heifetz, maybe Milstein can be taken as faster versions but still on the expected time. Anyway, your entire performance is amazing.

Can't more people do violin solo music? Maybe with a simple cello melody in the background, but not distracting. It's perfect to read a story where the mood changes a lot, since the beauty of such music can be interpreted in multiple ways. It also isn't as ear blasting as all that epic stuff.

The acustic in the recording studio is just about perfect, it's add to the harmonics that Barati makes such a perfect use of!

Einfach wunderbar!
