A very lively performance. I like the tempo by Eliot Gardiner. My favourite.

That's because, per, son CPE, Bach himself was inclined to employ lively tempi, though sometimes some go too far. I don't know what kind of reaction to that liveliness resulted in such horrendous stodgy tempi that enslaved so many horrid, dead Romantic MISinterpretations of Bach's tempi, unless it might have been the idea of grandeur supposedly required slowness, e.g. pious viewing of solemn, grave subjects. Another grave and sadly irredeemably ubiquitous ERROR of interpretation is performing the Baroque fermata as a hold as came to be in the Classical and Romantic eras versus the correct view of it rather merely marking a phrase end since not everyone had music (1. paper was expensive and 2. copying was terribly difficult and cruelly time consuming (I'd be terrified if I had to copy Bach's music by hand!)) it helped keep instruments and voices together for the cadences.

Wunderbar die Arien: 04:43 Sopran-Arie: "Unsre Stärke heißt zu schwach" 09:45 Bass-Arie: "Gott, bei deinem starken Schützen"

Unfortunately no real corno da caccia at "Unsre Stärke heißt zu schwach".
