you need a window vent air inlet at the opposite bottom of the J to have oxygenate the combustion chamber. This gave to the system an efficient combustion without smoke.
@IngeLyck
@IngeLyck 11 ай бұрын
I just watched this video and your comment. So the vent air inlet, should that in one of the sides of the burner? I have tried to build a small rocket stove, but this seems more efficient. Sorry for asking, but I am Danish, and English isn’t my first language. 😀😀

Excellent design, excellent video, nice interaction! I noticed THE FIRST TWO ROWS COULD BE MADE AT ONCE AS A RECTANGLE, so you wouldn't need to break any brick in half. I plan to try one of these very soon!

Personal remarks on the kid are so unnecessary. He is next to the mic so his voice will be at a higher level. Lower the volume if you feel uncomfortable. Dear kid please ignore everyone. You have great passion and curiosity and I hope you build on that. Wonderful educational fun video with dad. Good for both of you.

This is by far the best design I have seen yet. The little rocket stoves, fed with tiny twigs, and you constantly have to feed the fire, walk away for a few minutes, and it goes out. You can use bigger pieces of wood too I see, and that's good because you won't have to add wood as often. The one thing I might change is, I might take one brick out of the firewood end, at the bottom, so you can CONTROL the amount of air feeding the fire, and so the air goes UNDER the wood instead of being drawn down into the wood. You can also close off the air flow that way, by replacing the brick. Your stove LOOKS good too, nice aesthetics, you could put one of these at the corner of a traditional fire pit, and it would look great!

I so appreciated your video. Its a challenge to find videos of ppl cooking w/cast iron on a rocket stove. I just blt one in my back area for cooking legumes & pulses to save power b/c they take hrs to soften. Anyway loved this video - my rocket stove is different but I like the dbl chimney - the base is secure. mine is just a single chimney. Happy cookin' & sharing. So helpful... thx a bunch.

Methinks you didn't need to cut the bricks in half to do this, and not doing so would help tie the two sides together. I personally appreciate the Father/Son aspect of this video, although it could use some father/son bonding while learning to edit as well. ;-) The fast forward never happened, which somewhat added to the humor, but could have been put to good use on the scenes of the dog, if they weren't edited out entirely! I realize people love their pets, and a lot of KZbinrs will show a shot or two of their pets, but this was a bit much. Keep making videos, though. I've made a brick rocket stove, but not with the J tube. Nice addition!

@oldyellerschannel4676
@oldyellerschannel4676 5 жыл бұрын
I think the point was that this stove is gravity fed. If they added wood the way everyone else does, it would need constant maintenance. This way, you can put larger pieces of wood in the hole, and as it burns, it feeds itself, for a while anyway. I would have left out one brick on the wood side, at the bottom, for better air flow and control though.
@alessandriaj7265
@alessandriaj7265 4 жыл бұрын
@Soyel agree I have one and made the feed open one brick higher than usual and you can put larger piece in that way and it's fed in the bottom like traditional rock stoves, works better and easier to clean out....another question here...how do you clean this out on his design???? no opening to ash removal lol

"CHASING COCO" would be a better title for the video. About the rocket stove, would be better if you put a grill to rest the wood, so that way you get a better ventilation and ashes don't get in the way, take one brick off of the bottom inlet for a better air flow.
