Talking about Stalin in a positive light was taboo in Russia as late as 2007 but then that changed and he gradually came to be a national hero and now he is much loved in Russia today. Of course, not loved by all and it doesn't come with out debate and controversy but his image has largely been rehabilitated and he is hailed as a hero who industrialized the country and defeated Hitler.
