Great video! Quick question, please advice, or refer me to a webpage or something. From what I have researched, the H1 Visa has a maximum of 6 years. What happens to IMG's that go into 7 year Ortho/Neurosurg/Gen Surgery? How can only apply to this residencies with an H1? Thanks in advance.

What are the chances to match in haem/onc after residency on a h1b?
@matcharesident2 жыл бұрын
No one can tell you your chances of Matching, as it depends on the overall quality of your application :)

I know many residency programs won't consider h1b applicants. And i know that IMG physicians who've completed their training in the USA are h1b cap exempt, provided they work in a non profit research/university or a at a setting which is affiliated to a university. I wanted to know that if i apply for an h1b before starting my residency (instead of the more common j1), will i be subjected to the h1b cap? Even if i match into a university that accepts h1b applicants is there a possibility i won't be able to practice since there's too many H1B holders? And what if i match into a community program, will i be subjected to the h1b cap? And will getting an h1b for Residency depend on my country also?

How difficult it is to match into a pathology program that sponsor h1b?
@matcharesident3 жыл бұрын
Generally speaking, Pathology is an IMG Friendly specialty. As far as programs that sponsor H1B visas, this is exactly the type of data Match A Resident provides through our Customized Lists! You can visit us here for a page full of details for Non-US IMGs: www.matcharesident.com/non-us-img

Hello! Do Green card holders have higher chance of matching residency?? and After completing residency of 3years with J1 , is J1 waiver needed before starting fellowship?? I’m confused.Help me please!
@matcharesident3 жыл бұрын
Visa/Green card status is only one of many factors that affect one's chances of Matching. That being said, Green card holders may have a greater number of compatible programs to consider since they are not limited to programs that accept/sponsor visas. We recommend contacting the ECFMG directly concerning your J1 waiver question! www.ECFMG.org/contact
@prathamsingh39743 жыл бұрын
Yes because the programs did not have to spend around 10000 USD in sponsoring your visa. if you are a lawful permanent resident (greencard holder) you don't have to worry about visa for your residency and fellowship.
