Power gains are always subject to many variables, I have at the moment (last dyno I did) was 268whp and about 250wtq. This motor (that exact motor in the video) will be in my car later this year. It is a 3.5 block bored 0.5mm over, 11.5:1 pistons, forged rods, and a 3.7L crank. Stock 3.5 L engine is 3471cc, and this engine will boost that to 3624cc, making the engine 4.4% larger if my math is accurate. I won't have the engine broken in and tuned till likely next year which is when I will be dynoing it and bringing it to the drag strip. This engine is going in a 2008 accord 6/6 replacing my j35z3 engine. Fastest 1/4 mile I did was 13.9. Now, I do have a few other mods since then but nothing to write home about that should make any big difference. But with this engine, heads, cams, tune, we are expecting around the 350-360whp range. So basically a 400 hp motor. But who really knows till it's all said and done. Optimistically I would like around 370whp. I will be etuning the car for more overall power and not so much peak power as I want it to be a proper daily driver set up however. I did ask what it will dyno before pulling the trigger, but there are SO many variables, it's not fair to say it will or won't dyno "x". Depends on the tune, the dyno, the day. All I know is this thing will be one strong J series. Eventually I will be posting videos and stuff about the engine... don't you guys worry 🙂

so what camshaft is in the head now? from what I understood, it's not a true variable cam set up with dual lobes. 1 for low end and 2nd lobe for high end. my understanding the Z2 head has 1 lobe , bigger than the low power lobe, but smaller than the high power lobe. if aftermarket cam, do you have the cam card showing lift and duration @.050 lift? thanks. I have the J35Z2 motor. and trying to learn everything that's different from other j35 series.
@RV-xb7vy2 жыл бұрын
@@DMF716 I am not sure what the cam specs are. But this engine is replacing my j35z3 engine with manual trans and no vcm. So they are using a j35z2 block I believe (which is the same as a j35z3, j35z6). Then the heads are r70 heads fully reworked and set up to go as a direct swap for my stock j35z3. You can do cams and get some power but obviously without doing the heads, you are not getting anywhere near the potential out of your set up. Also, depending on the cam profile, you should be changing the valvetrain to handle the higher lift/duration. I was going to do it cheap and do just cams. Then it turned to, ok lets do a full set of heads. Then I was like.... what am I doing here, lets just go for it and see what this thing is capable of.

You guys should make a video on how to install your charge pipes and throttle body on the j30c. I mean you guys promote your products but there hasn't been a video on how to do

What is the thickness of the Hondabond?
@thisguy7392 Жыл бұрын
Honest ask here. Does Hondabond work differently than other gasket makers? How it’s used here sounds like a glue. I thought gasket maker should be allowed to cure for a short period of time before reassembly.

Yeah it was applied a bit heavy on the oil pump there in the video cause the tip on the tube was messed up. It was actually thinned out before applying oil pump but didn't really capture that part on the camera unfortunately.

I can't stand the sequence you use to torque your bolts I was always taught middle inside out Criss crossed like you should have done on the oil pan I bet the manufacturer tells you to do it like I said These engines already leak oil bad enough why risk it
