A big inspiration to everyone. When you think about it - you have to dedicate the most of your life to graffiti, to get to a point where he stands at. No doubt, this guy will be in the history books in the future and people will be amazed what he did.

I have to say it's impressive how much this dude has put in work, simple and clean. That's what's graffiti is all about, always been a fan of NY bubble style and now i'm seeing it more in North Europe, where the scene has been mostly dominated by block letters and very complex styles from writers such as NUG,EGS etc. So glad to see bubble throw-ups, keeping it simple and destroying shit!

JA is the goat he is the king of the Bronx.. when I was a kid I learned about my cousins friend that he went to school with in the Bronx who's father was COPE2 from them I learned about JA there was no discussion without his initials mentioned I didn't give a fuck about COPE2 or any of the people he put into retirement with beef lol JA litterly murdered everyone in the game especially without a face but major fame lol .. & I didn't give a fuck about none of the other people they talked about other then OBEY who I also really enjoyed & learned things from his career with sticker work JA was the ghost that I was always mysteriously asked about as a kid I seen it on trucks I seen him on trains I seen him on buildings he was fucking everywhere cross over to New Jersey he was was on water towers next to TK kid. JA was the one who got me into graffiti he was the one who tossed a spark in how the culture is supposed II be & till this day he is the GOAT putting in work. I'm 27 today and never got the chance to actually be JA or invest in writing as I've grown into a man but I will always tell people how important JA is & how he is the culture period.

@Throwie Definitely. You had to be original because you had no choice, true that. No internet, and in New York at that time no one there was worried about no other part of the country, but New York. I remember Baby 168 Angel Dust, and Ole English throwing up top to bottoms were the illest styles on the trains passing by. I thought that Mobile Art would never die, I never realized how big our transit system was in New York until I left. Graffiti is so New York to me.

good afternoon! I wanted to ask you for an oldschol writer who forgot his name, I remember that he painted a character on a face with a beret and shirt, I once saw him with a helmet like Greek. Another thing I remember is that I saw it for the first time in a documentary which I don't remember his name, he started with the trains I think.

Just watch “karate kid part 3” if you want to see him. He’s the big buzz cut douche bag bad guy kid. He once did a block on the venice wall in like 88 and only a few people in LA knew who he was so Relm KSN wrote “jack ass” inside the block like it belonged there and for months most LA writers called him jack ass and assumed that was his name ha ha. Totally true. A better story is when he did throwies on a piece of ours on Melrose and our homie Danny boy (from house of pain) ran up on him. JA pulled a shotgun from his trunk but Danny said fuck you and jack ass drove off. Good times. JA...Just Another fly on KSN’s shit.

@@princequestly2218 ain’t no joke. There’s a pic of that. That was the first legal burner on melrose. It was used in a photo shoot (as a back drop). It’s on the back of an album by a band called Excel. The album is “the jokes on you” (that’s what’s known as instant karma btw) It’s a dope song. Excel is the KSN crew band. Venice skate punk hardcore. JA did throwies on that piece the night before the photo shoot. So the piece got fixed kinda. You can still see it tho. Danny boy btw owns and runs the “outsiders” museum in Tulsa Oklahoma now days. And.. I’m actually the original member of house of pain. The contract was offered to me. Erik Shrody was my friend. I brought him in. But ..I hated all that nonsense. Hip hop died for me in 1990. I’m only old school NY hip hop period. 78’-88’ yes yes y’all My old best friend ..Divine styler ..was connected to Ice T. Ice’s label was searching for talent. That’s what companies do. And so they made a compilation. Rhyme Syndicate was the name. Erik did it solo cause I bailed. Danny was a neighborhood kid that came in after. The name House of Pain …was made by Divine. Divine was arguing one day and said “I’m moving into the shed out back. I’ll call it the house of pain. “ Divine produces for Erik now days. They made a nice cut a few years back ..the song is called “Dazed” by “war porn industries”. I was a legendary bboy back in the day. Erik approached me saying he wanted to get into hip hop. I started a graf crew with another writer at school named Mark 7 …we named the crew LTS. Last To Serve. Last Team Standing. And so I brought erik into that. He wrote Midas. There was another MC in our hood. A friend of divines. His name was Devastating Rockin Darrel. DRockD. Erik copied it and called himself E rock E…Everlasting Rockin Erik ..which became Everlast. We all went to high school together. There were a few more peeps that kinda blew up there like my boy bret mazur. Dj epic. Unfortunately he went on to make ‘crazy town’ ..so sad. He was the best hip hop dj in LA. Bret and Erik and me were close friends. Yomo smith was in our group of friends. Yomo made a full record with Dre ..but it tanked. Yomo and Maulkie ..(check Dre’s discography) It was mother land style. Which lost popularity to garbage like Snoop 🤮 That’s when hip hop died. Ice cube also went to my school ..all the same years. Taft high class of 88. He was the hall monitor in my girls building. Cube with the greasy lakers starter jacket. Dre…was in world class wreckin cru back then. I used to kick it with him. I could go on forever. I’ll burn anyone that steps to me in graf tho. I represent the god damn mutha fuckin KSN Crew! …LA Peace to my people .. KSN LA TM New Orleans WCA LA UTI LA CBS LA LTS LA DTK LA AOK NY COD NY UA NY AWR worldwide. MSK worldwide. Makin Suckers Kneel ….came from .. Keepin Suckers Nervous (BaBa changed our name in the 90’s) Peace to my brother Phyn One MSK AWR KSN. My favorite excel song is “insecurity” ..you should check it out … Although …Spirits (don’t give up) by Gil Scott heron …that’s a dope cut. Peace.

ja's "style" is very simple and lacks creativity. He tries to make up for the lack of creative ability by doing the same few things over and over, but he does have the most tags in nyc. its just that same thing over and over, its really simple and kinda ugly even. so basically in nyc, its doesnt matter if your ish is wack, just if you do it a lot. he buffs people to test them to see if they tag as much as him, but he's really just being an overly self entitled, hater.

***** He is what he is - a limited artist from a creative standpoint, but very consistent, active, and he hits spots as though he's spiderman. I can't count the number of times that I tried to figure out how he climbed upon a trestle or overpass. The majority of his throw ups are filled in well, and he has a creative tag (JAONE). He's legend in the eyes of most writers.
@JWFdocumentaries
@JWFdocumentaries 9 жыл бұрын
He has a lot of epic spot, no doubt. The last thing he lacks is can control, he got that on lock. But his tag is the furthest thing from creative, it's his initials. This is well known even amongst the cops but he covers his tracks well enough for lack of proof. His hand tags look like plain hadwritting almost (it's actually a swastika with one line going different direction, and then one in plain writing. not sure if he even realized or if that's where he secretly got the style). But yes it's true, he's a legend, even if you're not feeling his style, he managed to claim eternal underground fame. like you said, it is what it is.
