My personal preference: it would be more interesting to see you slap some axles under the Jag. Plus, I doubt very much that the Cummins will fit under the hood, body swap or not. I knew a guy with a CJ5 that had the same front drive line problem, he used angle shims to adjust the angle of the front axle. fun fact: The company that does Jag wiring is the same company that wires British refrigerators. That's why the Brits drink their beer warm. 🤣

I understand and appreciate the logic you had for going with this particular build! Definitely looking forward to seeing the "finished" product - asterisk is only there because with the build technically being compromised from the very beginning, with all the budget restrictions LOL and when is a build actually ever finished AND so will be hoping that after the contest, regardless of where you finished, that you guys decide to really finish the build, free of any limitations so that all of us get to see its ultimate final form! For me, right now, you're definitely tied with two other teams when it comes to the team I'm most excited in seeing how well your envisioned concept, translates to tackling the actual competition, which does take place in the real world!! BTW your "RAMpinJAG" build already seems like it will be supremely epic, memorable one (for some reason I'm super confident in that 😁👍) - I'd actually be shocked if that wasn't the case!

Not sure, but those Selectro look just like my Husky on my 73 K30... They're made by Mile Marker, & parts might still be available. They certainly have been put thru the hard life with me, 9300# & 375+ hp 355 (350-.30 over with 11-1 comp!). But I'm not rock crawling here in Michigan, but they have lasted 3+ decades...

I am not gonna lie I am looking forward to seeing what the Jag/Dodge is going to look like. I have seem some pretty crazy builds when I was in the Army, the craziest was an El Camino on a 7" long arm lift while stationed in Fort Benning, Ga. I believe he rolled around on 40's.

Hey, make sure you address the steering box and bracket. I had a 1993 and the bracket tore off the frame. I wasn’t even doing anything, just backing out of the driveway when it happened, so it must have been fatiguing for a long time. It had more than 250k miles on it. This will be a fun build. Good luck!

When I was younger I had a 78 DODGE TRUCK. I ALWAYS THOUGHT. DODGE STOOD FOR D= DARNED O= OLE D= DODGE G= GOES E=EVERYWHERE AND IT DID TILL THE CHAIN AND SPROCKET TRANSFERCASE DECIDED NOT TO WORK PROPERLY. AT which point all I had left was 2 WD.

If I remember correctly from a friend that bought a 1st Gen Cummins new, the difference between the 250 and the 350 was... Springs and the door label. Pulling some leafs out of the pack should help, but then, I don't need to tell y'all that.

It’s a 89 or 90, 91 had the larger more rounded grille. Fun fact, Mr ford (Jack Roush) installed the first Cummins in a dodge for the Chrysler engineers.

Awesome plan Matt! This is my favorite build of the competition so far. But please, never say 12v Dodge Cummins. It's a Cummins that is stuck in a Dodge. I love my Ram more than anything I own. But Dodge never made anything as good as a 12v. We got lucky they made such a good choice.

I think you need to 4 link the truck front and rear with ORIs or coil overs. (Or 3 link the front what ever works out) I don't think you will get as much flex as your going to need / want with a set of leaf springs made for a Cummins. Unless yall order a set of custom springs or make a set from something else work. But you have a lot of weight to deal with. If it is in your budget I'd say definitely link it with ORIs or coil overs. Even if you just do the front I think that would Completely change the rig for the better
