Everyone says this, but as soon as they have a friend like that they usually neglect them or get tired of their honesty. I would know, I'm the guy that calls out people's bullshit and have lost plenty of long term friendships because people can't handle the truth. It's fucked up, but people are always happier when others are licking their ass and validating their bad decisions rather than having someone criticise them. In short, people are fake as fuck and claim they want one thing when really they want another.

The comments all agreed that Alex just went along with it, being just as mean I adore Alex, but between the way he handled the whole Alfie situation and that it's obvious that he can be a bit of a follower. I want to add that I watched another xollab with Alex and Atozy and at 1 point he said "I'm not being mean for the sake of being mean." Which was 1 of the biggest wants about the bad collab. In any relationship (friendship or otherwise) you can’t let things bottle up. Alex was bottling up all these minor things that he was irritated with jack about. Then jack makes a reasonable critique and he exploded. That happens a lot. Don’t let small problems become big ones. Work things out as they come along. It’s uncomfortable but necessary. By the way I’m not saying Alex bottles things up as an insult. It’s human nature to want to avoid conflict but as long as you do it in a constructive way. I do understand though if you’ve been burned before you just shut down but as he himself said he needs to work on it. It’s gonna make relationships in the future harder for him.

@@awal4896 This is so true. I unfortunately ended up falling out with someone partly because they kept everything bottled up and didn't tell us that they were upset until it all built up and came out at once, and by that point they were so affected by it that they couldn't move past it even after we tried to resolve things. Man, Alex NEEEEEDS to take a break so badly. Even though I’m not a KZbinr, I relate to his state of mind a lot. It sounds like he just absolutely broke down from all of this stuff going on around him and let it all out in that livestream which unfortunately ended up being aimed at Jack which for viewers on the outside made no sense and lacked all context. The thing is that instead of just crying and screaming in the privacy of his room like I would do, a whole lot of people witnessed it which is not an ideal image to portray to people and something I don’t think any of us would want to show to thousands of people. I think we’re all like that sometimes and honestly I was disappointed with how he conducted himself in the livestream but I was totally and utterly in understanding with him. I really just want him to take a long break, visit his family or friends or something or just go on a fucking holiday. I don’t want him to end up in a bad state that will be hard to come back from because I can see him teetering on the edge right now even in his normal videos. I really like him because he is flawed (like every human being) but unlike a lot of people, absolutely knows so and you can tell he tries his best to be better. Anyway, I don’t really care about any of this drama right now, I just want him to take a step back and clear his thoughts. It’s obvious he’s confused about what he is feeling and thinking and the people and environment around him with constant polarising opinions aren’t helping. It’s NEVER good to be this absorbed in your work to the point of not being able to make sense of anything anymore. PLEASE ALEX TAKE A FUCKING BREAK 💕

What I've come to realize is that Alex isn't the best with head-on confrontation. He's more likely to bend than to stick to his guns. Which is, in my opinion, 110% why Alfie chose him to be on that video rather than Jack, who will stick to his guns and not bend. Not saying Alex is wrong, but in this situation I do believe he handled it to the best that *HE* could. He, from my view, doesn't handle head-on conflict the best (as I said above), so in a way i feel bad for him. But, at the same time, not. I am glad for these two to publicly sort through things, since they publicly had conflict. It shows immense maturity and depth. Well done lads. EDIT: An example to clarify, If someone had cheated Jack and Alex, Alex is more the type to go "Well that sucks, but oh well." and Jack is more the type to go "No, you cheated me, and you need to make that right." Obviously this is just from my point of view from the various ways I've seen both interact online. It's obviously not a true *in-depth* POV, since I actually don't know them :) Edit 2: As I keep watching, and not just listening, another telling sign is that Jack is maintaining eye/body contact, whereas Alex is rarely looking at Jack, and is more looking past him. Which shows that he does feel bad, and a bit sheepish. He knows it wasn't the best, and he's still (from what I can see, and I could be wrong) upset about it.

Honestly I think Alex is having a tough time with his mental health recently. As someone with anxiety too I've spotted the signs in his latest few videos. I thought jacks video wasn't ill intentioned but when someone's anxiety gets particularly bad, a big symptom is reading into everything and that's what Alex understandably did.
