Received the Jabra Select 200 mid October 2023. I ordered the product to assist with my hearing which was tested as "Severely impaired" in the high, mid and low frequencies. At age 82 I decided it was time to get on top of my hearing loss. Product instructions and Android app are easy to follow and supplemented with Jabra's videos. I contacted Jabra about the metallic like sounds reported by others. They updated my Android Jabra app within a day or so. Hearing my voice and others is normal now with their updated hearing profile. Working with their excellent Zoom based specialist I have been able to "tune" the Jabra devices to my ears including selecting the right dome size for each ear (the left ear required the mid-size closed dome while the right ear requires the large closed dome) and using the sport lock which is necessary for my active life style. Their product support is excellent. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Jabra Select 200.

I'm satisfied with these. I'm 86, a new hearing aid user. About two years ago I give Oticon a real try, but couldn't accept the tinny sound of my own voice, after numerous visits for adjusments. The Jabras also make my voice sound tinny, but now I'm readier to accept this, espcially at such a significantly lower price! I really like the online appointments with the audiologist, and have been satisfied with the help given. (I have a background in Speech Path/Aud, so I have some confidence in general ability to know what the issues are.)

The Select 200 was my second pair of Jabra hearing aids. These HA’s are far superior than my first pair that cost $4,000 USD. Another bonus is the fast and through the client support.

I don't have any Jabra hearing aids, but somehow, they got ahold of my email address and keep sending unrequested email advertising on a regular basis, which got pretty annoying. Now when they send the latest advertising to my email address, it automatically goes into the Spam folder.

I returned the Opticon real as I did not like the sound or the app. I got the select 300 and it’s great. Sounds great and much better app. Select 300 are the best combination of quality and price.

I accidentally left a longish comment on your video of best otc brands. So briefly, I agree with another person that streaming isnt great (tinny). Stealth support for program updates is prompt but im waiting weeks to talk with the telemed audiologist. Generally, I am happy with my hearing improvement.

Thanks for your comments Brien, other people have noted poor customer service too. Also, streaming can be tinny especially with more "open" ear tips. There are specific changes that can be made to improve music, maybe worth bringing this up when you finally get through to there audiologist. Best of luck! - Steve

@@hearadvisorWhat hearing aid do you recommended for those who demand the highest quality music streaming with a solid, deep bass response, balanced mids, and clear, but not overly bright highs? I'm having a hard time finding anything that'll help with *both* my hearing loss, *and* satisfy my demand for audiophile-quality sound (without spending thousands).

I wonder the same thing, as well as if ANY hearing aids are capable of being used as hearing protection while at work in very loud environments.
@hearadvisor
@hearadvisor 6 ай бұрын
Hi @Psythik, I responded to a similar question of yours in another comment thread. Better music sound quality commonly can be found in advanced earbuds or in-the-ear style devices due to the occlusion they provide and style of speaker used. For example, Apple Airpods Pro will often provide outstanding music quality compared to an "open-fit" traditional hearing aid. - Steve

Hi @only1humann, it really depends on the situation and it is difficult as the goals are opposing (reduce sound vs amplifying it to compensate for hearing loss). In hazardous sound settings such as industry or loud venues it is generally best to discontinue use of hearing aids and rely on hearing protection. Certain earplugs can offer you protection without completely muffling speech. There are also forms of active hearing protection, such as Etymotic Research MusicPro, that can work well in these situations. It's best to speak with an audiologist who specializes in this area to discuss options that may work for you as well as monitor your hearing to assess the effectiveness of any methods you try. - Steve

A Jabra rep just told me to wait until January, as they are introducing the Enhance 500. This will be similar to the ReSound Nexia (they say). I am currently testing the Starkey Genesis AI, and tomorrow switch to a week of the Resound Nexia. So far, the quality of prescription hearing aids doesn't justify the high cost. Either my audiologist isn't vey good, or the Starkey is pure garbage. (there's a constant variable hiss)

Im getting a 200 from a friend, obviously not programmed to my hearing. I have a pro audiology graph. Can i do initial programming myself to match the response to my freq graph, or would jabra have to do it? And if i need jabra can i buy a one time programming? I obviously dont have the premium service.

Hi, you may be able to sign into your friend's Jabra account and upload a new audiogram for reprogramming. I would reach out to their team as you may be able to purchase their Premium services a la carte and getter better overall assistance for your hearing needs. Best of luck. - Steve

@@hearadvisor Which OTC hearing aids do you recommend for the best quality music streaming? I returned a pair of Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus hearing aids because it couldn't reproduce any sounds about 13kHz, but these Jabras sound even worse! At least the Sennheisers could reproduce bass! Basically I'm looking for something that will not only allow me to actually understand people in loud situations, but also enjoy high-quality music in the background while doing so. What do you suggest?
@hearadvisor
@hearadvisor 6 ай бұрын
Hi @Psythik, Apple Airpods Pro, Sony CRE-E10, and Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus have been some of the highest scoring products for streamed music sound quality. Much of this depends on how the device sits in your ear, you generally want a more occluded, or "plugged", fit to get that rich low-end for music. - Steve

Don't know which route you went as your comment is from two months ago. I bought the Airpod Pro 2 as starter hearing aids due to the low cost ($200 currently). They work well enough for my mild loss at the low end and moderate loss at the high end of the spectrum that I am now wondering just how much better dedicated hearing aids might be. But I love the Bluetooth streaming for music, youtube, audiobooks and the like. That sample from the Jabra was horrible, almost unusable other than maybe a quick phone call. A real turn off. So I am super glad to have heard it, as I would have been very disappointed to spend that kind of money to get that sound. I think for now I will stick to the Airpod Pro 2 - they work well enough as hearing aids to be useful, but also work well as earbuds.

Admittedly, this is a small sample, but of the six comments shown on this thread, two of them report poor service. I see a similar consensus on more broad-based websites. The take-away is that Jabra Enhance has a good product but poor service. And with the company’s telehealth model, poor service causes an unsatisfactory customer experience.

I've had a different experience. Other than a long wait for the appointment with the audiologist, they've been very supportive. For example, a couple of times they supplied small parts for free to improve the fit. A remote programming of the devices also improved them. It's not like going to an audiologist in town but neither is the cost.
