@polite critique I can't disagree but your comment is not looking at all the facts, and you are lumping things together that do not have anything to do with elephant abuse. Example, shall they trust the easterners that use the elephant tusks to make beautiful carvings? Or use the rhino horns to make an aphrodisiac medicine? Do you think all poachers come from the west or India? (and why call out India?) Veal and dairy farms are a western problem - but it turns out it is also a problem equally elsewhere because the dairy farmers have no use for the bull calves at all. I think you will find that there are people and places that treat them well. And in the same places you will find people who abuse them. Translated: there are good people, and bad people, and there are ignorant people. If we inform and educate the ignorant people we might have a chance of saving the elephants.

Rhino horn is made from keratin, same a finger nails, it does nothing for ED. Might as well be eating ground up finger nails. Yet China's insatiable demand and money is causing the extinction of the Rhino. That's just one example.
