Now here is the problem, Indian Armed Force, till 2017, had a single policy, SHUT UP YOUR MOUTH and protect the country, with added emphasis on SHUTTING UP. Indian Armed Forces never bothered to advertise, even for recruitment. In current times, which are ruled by image perception and everything hits media, this becomes a huge problem, Indian Armed Forces have this image perception, that because they don’t say something, they have nothing to tell. I believe every single Indian will agree with me, when I say this, We are taught, right from childhood, to be a silent achiever. Now, we come to actual wars. 1948 Pakistan backed Pashtun’s had taken control of over 90% of J&K. Pakistani Army was en-route. When India jumped into war, there was no place to start from, Indian paratroopers jumped into SriNagar airport (single airport in whole J&K at that time), which was under Pashtun’s control. Indian Army managed to get over 60% of J&K back. Indian won over 60% J&K, remaining legally belongs to India and India can start a war over it tonight and UN will still support India. 1965 India was already weak after 1962 war. Indian Army was critically short on ammunition. Pakistan had superior fighter jets, jets with radar based guns. Pakistan had latest Patton tanks, which were superior to Indian Centurions. Pakistan sent 40,000+ soldiers dressed as civilians to J&K, Operation Gibraltar - Wikipedia. Pakistan’s aim was to take Kashmir. Pakistan ended up celebrating Defence Day (Pakistan) - Wikipedia. So, instead of taking Kashmir, Pakistanis are celebrating its Armed forces, saving Pakistan from India? While Kashmir is still with India. And India ended up getting Patton Nagar. And Battle of Asal Uttar (Translated: Real Answer) is taught in Army schools worldwide, where 10 Indian tanks took out 97 superior Pakistani Tanks, and if that was not good enough, 32 captured tanks were in running condition. 1971 No one needs to read about it, Pakistan signed a surrender, lost 50% of its population and 90,000+ Pakistanis became POWs. 1999 Pakistan sent soldiers, specifically NLI (Northern Light Infantry) dressed as mujaheddin, which legally makes them TERRORISTS to take over Indian territory. India took back all of the territory and slaughtered NLI soldiers. In 1998, Pakistan had 20 NLI battalions, in 2002 Pakistan reported 16, 4 battalions went missing, while Pakistanis were claiming ZERO involvement in Kargil. Nawaz Shariff (yes the Prime Minister of Pakistan) wrote a book, where he writes, “…when the conflict began the entire Northern Light Infantry was wiped out and 2,700 personnel were martyred and hundreds others injured…”. Pakistan’s aim was to take over Kargil and bargain for Kashmir. Instead NFI was wiped out and Pakistan needed to withdraw.

Even though Chinese have massive number of soldiers, they are in conflict with various countries bordering them mostly to it's east (Hongkong,Taiwan, South China Sea etc). On paper, *China may seems more powerful .... but when it comes to reality, India is way more powerful.* Reasons - 1. China have to keep his every enemy in mind while buying/making any defense, like USA, Japan, South China Sea nations, Australia, etc. 2. Our borders are surrounded by Himalayas (12000 ft+) and at such height, most of Chinese weapons doesn't work, while India buys/make weapons only keeping China in mind (cuz 2nd enemy, Pakistan gets old weapons of China) giving us massive advantage. 3. Even if china came with submarines, we have P8I plane and Romeo helicopters from USA which are submarine hunters. Also, we have lot of submarine hunting ships. 4. China, on paper, have numerical advantage in almost every weapon. But its every weapon is out dated and not maintained. While India have very few old weapons, but all of them are still well maintained. 5. China have to keep his some military and air force and full navy in South China sea to counter enemies who may come to attack China, helping India. 6. Russia is biggest friend of China, but so as for India. He is likely to stand in middle helping no one. China will be left with his other friends who are weak (minor countries).

A few points not mentioned in the video- 1) For land forces, defence is 2 to 3 times easier than offence and in mountainous terrain, defence is 5 to 9 times easier than offence. It means that in plains, you need an offensive force 2-3 times bigger than the defensive force and in mountainous terrain it should be 5-9 times bigger. In mountainous terrain, achieving air superiority i.e. total control of skies is also very difficult because neutralising threat from anti-aircraft weapons hidden in mountains is very difficult. Example- Afghanistan is called ‘a graveyard of empires’ mainly because of its mountainous terrain where guerrilla warfare is very easy. In a nut shell, India can easily defend herself against China. 2) Chinese air force suffers a disadvantage of operating from high altitude airfields in occupied Tibet. Plus, China cannot deploy even 1/4 of its airforce in this region called roof of the world where average altitude around 11,000 feet above sea level. In contrast, most of Indian Air Force bases are located in plains and India can divert more than half of its air power against China. 3) Though, India can easily defend herself (without even using nukes) but even if China eventually defeats India (in a conventional war) then such a war would weaken China very much both economically and militarily (even if it does not come to exchange of nukes). Militarily, Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was no match to the US but yet the US had to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on second Gulf War to defeat Saddam Hussein (when Bush Jr. waged war to hunt for imaginary WMDs). China shall have to spend at least a couple of trillions. On top of that, India is not even China’s main adversary or competitor. Both economically and militarily, China views itself in comparison to the United States. A war with India shall reduce China’s stature vis-a-vis USA by many notches (even if nukes are not involved). That is why India chooses not to attack Pakistan despite Pakistan sponsoring Islamic terrorism and aiding secessionist forces inside India. 4) China has nothing much to gain in war with India. Even if China conquers what it wants i.e. some parts of Ladakh and most of Arunachal, then these area are not prosperous at all. So reducing one’s strength for some poor mountainous territory is not worth risking a nuclear war. Capturing Arunachal Pradesh (called South Tibet by the Chinese) and some parts of Eastern Ladakh might be on China’s agenda but not on the top of their list. If they have half the sense, then they would try to attack and integrate Taiwan first because that’s a much more prosperous region than India’s Himalayan region and Taiwan’s military is much weaker than India’s. So, if China is to attack someone first with its full might intact, then that has to be Taiwan. A war with India before integrating Taiwan might render China unfit for a war to integrate Taiwan for many decades to come.

Fun fact: One of the main reasons why India underestimated the Chinese army's power was due to the commander(who was calling the shots) being inexperienced(which is because he had risen through the ranks due to nepotism) and this commander issued a series of very bad commands which in addition to the disadvantage in numbers lead to the loss.
