Syntell & Achara together is the best thing to happen to this channel. Both have high EQ, empathetic, funny & generally very cool together. Syntell laughs now, but will turn into a monk & weave together a philosophical narrative at the end. He will bring everything together to unlock the mysteries of the universe & break it down for us ordinary mortals. Jaby would never be able to do it.

That's one of the life lessons Abhishek learns in this season. We're all trapped in jobs and lives that we don't like, and are forced to dance to others' tunes. Even the shot where the girl tries to pay the medic with Rs 10 notes that people throw at her at the show was a subtle but powerful scene.

Same I loved the dancer scene too. People judge very easily but they forget that there are a lot of perspective to ones situation and it depends on which perspective we choose. Everyone are struggling daily in their own ways, so never say that get over your situation just because someone else is suffering more, if you can't be good then don't get envolve but don't spread negativity, we have enough of that. Respect every job and every person.

Parameshwar poisoned Pradhan's mind in the chair episode in season 1. That says a lot about him, and when you look at it, its no longer surprising that he ended up being a trouble-maker by exposing one of the dancers. Of course, the brick negotiation could have triggered his bad mood as well, and exposing the dancer was probably his way of venting out.

I am so glad that you two (and everyone actually) gets to see this side of India. We get to see a lot of stories about urban life - rich, middle class, and poor. There are so many ways that India is portrayed- some focusing on the slums and squalor, some on the skyscrapers and progress, but never this. Well at least, not to my knowledge. But while all the other parts are India, this is India too. A very significant part of India. The people, the laid back way of life, the little power tussles, the innocence, the subtle gender inequality issues have all been represented in such a sweet, human way. Can't thank TVF enough for creating this delightful show. Kudos to the entire cast for portraying all there characters without turning them into caricatures. And thank you Syntel and Achara for sharing this ride with us.

Yaa Sure, This Series proves that many people think village life is so unenjoyable and low class and fun can be done only in metro cities, but TVF broke this prejudice and proved this thing. In India, in state of Bihar n UP, there is a tradition of these kind of events where girls are called to dance where sometimes they mix boys as well (n most of the times , they are transgender), and the villagers will never want to watch a boy dance and that's why the villagers became angry. Also, these girls are mostly forced into these kind of events in thought of earning money, but most of these girls do not have other choice because they are mostly poor n does not have resources for proper education n mostly these girls have to suffer a very toxic environment.

The dancer moment was way more impactful than it can be implied from the translation. There is a lot of connotation with our culture that some might interpret differently than others. For me it is like this: 1. The obvious: that field is not really respected in society. More often than not they are linked with prostitutes. I have not experienced it first hand but in movies and serials they are called 'one who sells their body'. Though there is a difference between traditional dancing (as a performance) and modern dancing. 2. The most important meaning for me: it is related to the word 'Naach' (dance) or action 'Naachana' (dancing) and the image it creates in my mind, that is of 'Bandar ka Naach/khel' (monkey dancing). Very common practice a few decades ago. It represents the control of monkey's life in the hands of 'Madaari' or street performer. Monkey does what he is told to entertain the crowd. That's the gist of it. So when she says that everyone is dancing (Naachana). It means that they don't have control of their own lives (to an extent) and there is no difference between her job and his job (figuratively). Some are trying to get out of the cycle, some are resigned to this for their whole life, and some want to get better at it to become better at naach (like Sachiv). The classic rat race story.

Parmeshwar was kind of saddened after Lady Pradhan didn't ready to bargain much and was stuck with 300 rupees price, Parmeshwar became very sad and had a kind of heartbreak , because in villages in India, you cannot be too strong with your words and business go with a lot of negotiation but it didn't happen in that way. Village's have a very collaborative environment so something like this which has lot of stubbornness wouldn't go well there.

The opening song is from the 1972 classic Seeta Aur Geeta, a comedy drama with Hema Malini and other big names of the 70s. It's one of my fave movies so I was happy to hear the song for the season opening! 😃 I hope you guys will start doing watchalongs for classics soon. Seeta Aur Geeta is lots of fun and should def be on the watchlist! Also there is a remake planned with Shraddha Kapoor. So it could be good to watch the original before! :-) (To be exact Seeta Aur Geeta is the original when it comes to the female led version only, because it was a remake of the male version of the story, Ram Aur Shyam. Also, Seeta Aur Geeta was already remade in the late 80s with Sridevi, Rajnikanth, Sunny Deol and Anupam Kher, a really fun watch too)

While the "American Dreamers" (material/sensual pursuit at any cost) live by the former, most true Indians, historically used to live by the latter. @Achara Krik: Context regarding showing two “Pradhans” in a village Sometimes the seat for Pradhan is reserved for women (Pradhan is chosen in village elections by locals) In cases when this seat is reserved for women often the aspiring men nominate their wives. So technically the women is Pradhan(As you could see in the flag hoisting episode) But in reality the husband acts like one.
