@@Achara Yes Achara. Emperor Ashoka spread Buddhism all over South Asia. I was surprised that the airport was named 'Suvarnabhoomi'. I was like.. "This is an indian word". But suvarna means 'gold' and bhoomi means 'land'. (In Sanskrit) Also the thai script is similar to maybe the devnagiri script (Hindi). But please tell thai's to learn English lol. Had such a hard time in thailand. They do not even understand a single word of English. Can you believe that. Thank god for the Brits who ruled India, else India would have been in a similar state. And you were right. I am from Mangalore which is so close to Kerala and the entire Coastline starting from Mumbai to Kerala (which passes through Goa, Mangalore) is filled with beauty. You must visit. :)

@@Achara Also I had to point this crazy fact out. Yesterday you reacted to Jodha Akbar. Did you know Emperor Akbar was the 3rd or 4th richest in history ever. He was the ruler of the entire Indian subcontinent barring the southern states of India. He was worth $300 trillion (Amazing right?) and controlled over 20% of the world's GDP at that time. I wonder how the girl who reacted along with you would react if you told her this fact. :)

Kalaripayattu. Kalaripayattu(sometimes shortened as Kalari) is an Indian martial arts and fighting system that originated in Kerala and practiced by warriors of Kerala. ... It is considered by some to be the oldest martial art still in existence, with itsorigin dating back to the 3rd century BCE.

Best male to female sex ratio Very progressive, u can C transgender doing regular jobes in railways etc which is highly uncommon in southeast Asia. Jaby and team... I admire your enthusiasm to look at India and its regions... And it may seem obvious that a Malayalee (a native of Kerala) is reacting to your video on Kerala tourism. Most of these things which you saw here are there for you to enjoy when you arrive in Kerala but make sure you choose the right season/time to visit as most of the dance and fight (Kalaripayattu) are seasonal public events. Mostly they are taught in schools /gurukuls and not open to the public unless they are supported by the government or partons supporting the institutions. The overlap in culture with other countries is because most of them have originated in India. However, the south of India has more of a Dravidian touch compared to the North which is mostly influenced by the Aryan culture and way of living. Kung Fu, Karate and other martial arts of the east originated from Kalaripayattu - the one you saw here with the man making a split in the air. I can go on and on but the bottom line is you have to visit Kerala during the new year of Keralites - Vishu (14 or 15 April) or for the harvest festival - Onam (which happens at the end of August or in the first half of Septemeber) of every year to most of these without paying much. Thanks for the reactions and review. Achara you look sweet, awesome and you seem to be making intelligent and thoughtful statements in all your videos. Trisha, you look gorgeous and stunning and I am happy for your honest reactions. Jaby, you have an absolute sense of emcee power to you. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your future videos. On a closing note - If you want to experience the diversity of India, look for this song - Mile Sur Mera Tumhara - Original. You can find a single sentence recited in many languages of India. Its a song from the 80s sung and performed by many prominent singers and actors of our past and present era, including Amithab Bacchan and his peers. Do have a look. If you like Vande Mataram and A R Rahman's - Maa Tujhe Salam, you will definitely like this too. You can also spot the changes in the India of the past (like 30-40 years ago) and the India you have seen today. Cheers

Malayalam is one of the 13 Official Languages of India and it is mainly spoken by the people from the state Kerala and in the island "Lakshadweep". Kerala is known to be, almost 100% literate state of India. Most of the first thing that happens in India mainly originates from Kerala. Malayalam movie industry is the most respected movie industry throughout the country, mainly because most of the movies that is been made and accepted by the audience is purely made with logic and realism. Less unrealistic things(which referred as "Masala"(movie industry reference) i.e if you want to make your food spicy, we add masala), commercial movies with less number of unrealistic songs and dance. You have even reacted to "Dr. Shashi Tharoor - Britain Does Owe Reparations", he is a Member of the Parliment(MP) representing the capital state of Kerala which is known as Thiruvanthapuram aka Trivandrum aka Travancore. In Kerala you find the actual diversity with regard to cultures, traditions and even religions. I can 100% say that Kerala is the only state in India, that has zero tolerance if some one try to enforce any religious aspect on some with regard to food or traditions. You'll hardly have any language barrier issue in Kerala. The biggest festival include "Onam" even though its a hindu religion originated festive, its been celebrated by all the Keralites throughout the world. If I start to list the major festives and traditions, It'll take days to complete. One thing also I can point out, the richest temple in the world "Padmanabhaswamy temple" is in Trivandrum, Kerala. Currently few regions of Kerala is facing tough times due to flood, it even happened last year. But this year it happened in other regions of Kerala but hardly in the capital city. But it comes to the causalities comparing the floods happened in other parts of India. It has always been less, last year, even this year also. Because less number of people who panicked and people were smart enough to react at the right place and right time. And yes, "Achara" pronounced Kerala in the right way.

Yep, ancient kingdoms of South East India had strong relations with Thailand, Myanmar, and Indonesia with important cultural and economic ties ranging from the 3rd BC! The reason Achara finds the festivities of Kerala (and other southern states of India) similar to those of Bali is because Hinduism spread from South India to Indonesia back in the first century itself (lots of references also in Mahabharata about the Java islands). They still have a lot of Sanskrit words and customs & traditions very similar to that of India. Thailand has their own Ramayana and Bali follows the Vishnu Purana. I had been to Bali last year and spent time exploring the faiths, rituals and beliefs of the Balinese. It was a singular experience! Temples everywhere reverberating with similar sounding chants, prayers back home!

as a Malayali, I've always found Thai culture to be very similar and very familiar. In fact I eat Thai food in America, and own Thai and Indonesian furniture, because it reminds me of home in Kerala

The relation with Bali and Kerala geographically attributed to the Pangea movement. The split of land and movement contributed to this. The flora/fauna of Kerala and Bali found to be similar due to that fact!! There has been a lot of research on this!
