Ultimately my distinction towards 3D and 2D is; 2D: Draw a character easily, but you have to do it every time. 3D: Spend a painful dozen hours modeling, uv mapping, texturing, weight mapping, but you only need to do it once (Ok that’s a lie your completely redo your model from scratch on a multitude of occasions because your skills improved

Really good and FUN video. That remembers me of my first days in blender. The main problem of blender that it is wanna be ultimate program for creators( video editing, 3d engine( cutted ), 3d modeling+texturing+composing and animating software, grease pencil and etc. ) that makes interface and shortcuts a hell of a mess. Anyway, good luck in your 3d journey!!!

If you have issues with rotation going the wrong direction or twisting weird when animating, try making sure the quaternion rotation value is animated correctly. There's a thing called gimbal lock that's an issue with 3D (and higher dimension) rotating that doesn't exist in 2D. Quaternion rotation is basically using 4D rotation values so you can interpolate linearly. You don't have to understand the math behind it, the basic version is that it uses 4 numbers to give you a position on a sphere and a roll value so the computer doesn't have to deal with gimbal lock

I taught myself by model editing until I decided to dip my toes into creating new models entirely. I’ve taught others how to use blender since I’m simple minded so it helps them dip their toes into it too & it made me so happy that they expanded their experience till the point they’re doing way better than me, they’ve even taught me things I didn’t know too. Blender is a fun learning experience when you’re just doing it as a little hobby or doing it for fun
@tydino1017 сағат бұрын
in the uv editing tab, you can click the U key and get a unwrap meu and use auto unwrap which does the uv unwrapping for you then you can get straight to painting every nook and cranny yopu want, all you have to do is just make sure no islands overlap! (an island in uv unwrapping is a patch of polygons that are used to represent the model's sides.) also if you wanted to you can also make a giant highly detailed model simpler this way as well. mainly by using the subdivision surface and adjusting the topology, but this is just what i do when i model and wanted to share it! hope its useful for you in the long run!

21:22 If I want the camera to orbit something, I’ll usually parent it to an Empty, then animate and rotate the Empty around instead of the camera. Only using the camera to move closer or further from its Empty. Kinda like placing a camera on a selfie stick and spinning in a circle. Modifiers can be really wonky and I don’t fully understand them yet, so if I can make a “physical” construction in the editor I will
