What he said was off-color and warranted an apology, but the pearl-clutching shown by people on both sides is a bit overblown. Remember when the right mercilessly made fun of Paul Pelosi after he was attacked? Not that either is "okay" to joke about but there's clearly a double standard by many

I don’t think Tenacious D is going to insight violence as they are a comedy duo. An apology should be enough these days. It’s crazy how a couple seconds can possibly ruin someone’s career these days as quickly as the public wants to shame someone for a lapse of judgment.

I shudder (but kinda chuckle to myself also) when I think of all the attempts at humor that I have blurted out over the decades. I have even lost a few of my more sensitive friends over attempts at humor. But, humor is VERY important to me and I think it is sorely needed today, even when it sometimes “goes too far” for some people. It is all about context. And if grown adults can’t understand that, they need to grow up more, period. It’s not that big of a deal. But then again, I really love humor….even humor that is perhaps a bit “too soon” or “inappropriate”.

I personally think if Ted Nugent can rock, and he SHOULD. Clearly, Tenacious D should cancel NOTHING.

I'd never heard of these guys before this incident and don't know anything about Jack Black's movie career. but I have no doubt that he felt it was fine and dandy for Gass to say what he did and is now trying to walk his reaction back and distance himself from his partner in an attempt to save his career. Both guys look really old. If they've not squandered all the earnings from their work, they should consider retiring.

That's one of those comments that a person should have realized immediately after saying it, and displayed a sense of humility and admitted that it was wrong right then and there. But that's not how it played out. They responded, waited, then responded because of the backlash, instead of knowing that it was wrong. I don't understand why Trump is the pinata for people to say whatever comes to their mind over, and think that it's ok because he is Trump. It's not right at all regardless of what anyone thinks of the guy.

I feel bad for Kyle because I’ve been in situations where I say something wrong it slips out so fast it just sucks this situation sucked for everyone involved JB tho he is a husband and a father, and that continuing the tour-which includes many political rallies, in wake of the recent shooting, his and his bandmate, and entire crew and entourage's safety is now put at higher risk. I would rather live cautiously and see my family another day than live dangerously all for the sake of appeasing my fans what a time to be alive no one is successfully canceling JB he’s still one of the most genuine people Hollywood’s got left and I hope they don’t have a falling out because of this

I don't think Jack had a chance on stage to decide how he wanted to respond. In that environment he might not have even been 100% on what he even heard, he seemed to try and change topic and move on. The (Dixie) Chicks still have a career following their previous political statement (although it took time), the same may happen here. But I personally am so done with cancel culture! He should be able to apologize and move on. We all don't have to agree but we can still love the music.

I think it was just too soon and his sponsees knew they’re would be too much backlash and they made him pull the plug. You’ve got to remember some guy got pegged off in the head and died in front of his wife and kids. It was all in fun but too soon and just not necessary.

Glen, an innocent man was murdered in front of his wife and child. Yeah he was at a rally for a bad political candidate that I sure as hell don’t agree with but it’s in very poor taste in my opinion to say “wish he wouldn’t have missed” where an innocent man was murdered because he missed. The man who was killed was a local firefighter in the area who had served the community for over 20 years. I don’t mean to be a jerk but I really enjoy yours and Larry’s content. I hope we can all be better and make the world better. Peace & Love. ✌️

Sometimes comments are not removed by KZbin, they go into a "held for review" for the channel. Even though my setting is to approve every comment... That happens with every video I post, there are a few comments I have to approve before they go public, even though they are usually just regular comments.

I like Trump and what he said was in bad taste but you know, when you're on a stage in front of a live audience and you get asked a question sometimes you say something stupid because you think it'll get a laugh from the crowd or whatever. It was bad judgement but I wouldn't hold it against him. Id still go see them if they were to come to town.

Condone means accept. I think you meant that Jack could have condemned Kyle's comment. Am I off base? Anyway, it was definitely a mistake on Kyle's part. Only he knows what drove him to say it. It's the kind of thing that you keep in your head. Other comedians and news anchors have been silenced for off color political remarks and now Kyle Gass has joined the ranks, probably for the worse regarding his career. Only time will tell. There's no one really there to say "Kyle, I accept your apology." Who would be there that would make a difference in his career?

Its unfortunate that kyle said that. It was a horribly tasteless thing to do. And even worse, the optics of the situation are that the appologies are due to the backlash and not due to the fact that what he said was wrong. A simple appology probably wasn't going to cut it if he had apologized immediately afterward, and it definitely won't cut it now. I condemned don juniors "halloween costume" that was a hammer and a pair of briefs, and i would be a hypocrite if i didn't condemn kyle for this since it is calling for violence against someone you dont like. So kyle, you done screwed up big time. I dont know if you can recover from this.

This is quite sad, it was an obvious joke and people seem to not get it. I think that this would actually be a good plot for the second Tenacious D movie. Kyle makes a big mistake by saying something he shouldn’t and they are trying to make things all right throughout the movie.
