Most people didn't and that's why they canceled the tour, because they received enough backlash that continuing the tour isn't going to work as people will associate it with the comment and nothing else. And Jack Black has a lot more going on than Tenacious D that he doesn't want the comment trickling over to his other projects, especially since his bosses there is Dreamworks, Illumination, and Nintendo, who really don't want to be associated with that comment.
