That story is exactly the story of Jackie Chan’s dad who was a former spy and escaped from China to Hong Kong to Australia. His dad worked as a cook in the embassy in Australia.

@@jeffquinz2118 Yeah. His dad was on the nationalist/republic side of the Chinese civil war, against the communist. And so the communist won, obviously, and Jackie's dad was among many of those whom fought on the nationalists side that was marked for capture/torture, information(of the nationalists, their people, the important ones especially/soldiers/supporters, how many they have got, their funds and supplies be it food and or water, weapons) and death. He quickly escaped or fled to Hong Kong where he met Jackie's mom and they both had him and even before that they have children of their own separately from their own marriages that unfortunately had to leave behind, I think their spouses were dead and their kids were left for dead. They went their own way to Hong Kong, and met each other there, had Jackie, went to Australia briefly and then dumped his ass to Beijing years after the People's Republic of China was formed and building itself into a powerful and wealthy nation, rising above poverty, famine, the after effects of war/s and also, inflation + debt. Jackie's parents especially his father changed his name legally to avoid being recognised and captured after he fled and was successful in changing his identity and building a new life. But he's a hardened man and never really cared for Jackie. Hence Jackie never experienced fatherly love as a kid and doesn't know how to express his too to his own son Jaycee Chan. His actual last name is Fong. Jackie only took up his father's original last name/family name many, many years later in his 60s now to honor his family legacy and even went back to his ancestral town in China to visit the place and where his forefathers resided before the war. The Chinese civil war killed alot of people comparable to the world war/Sino-Japanese war. My ancestors fought in that war too and yeah, my great grandparents were on the nationalist side too. And defected to Southeast Asia when they saw the communists growing power and the nationalists losing. The nationalists themselves defected to Taiwan to build the Republic of China. I am part Chinese so yeah, that's where my Chinese ancestors came from. Southern China and they are nationalists.

Jackie is former assassin who wants to cook to get away from that life, and jack is a guy who has to provide for his son/daughter/kids, after the death of his wife. They meet each other, at first they don't get along but later they learn to get a long, but they get in trouble because of jackie's past so now they have to save their own lives, and those that are close to them. And I can't think of anything else so some comment how it should end
